I was working at a cement plant where one night, they lost refractory on the inside of the kiln. By the time the molten cement had melted through the kiln shell there was a 2 foot hole out of which would pour basically lava. The production guys in the control room didn't notice despite having FLIR cameras on all 225 feet of the kiln. A maintenance guy walking in the plant radioed it in. I used to have a video someplace, I'll have to see if I can find it.

"is this one of them viruses which virates on other viruses? i've heard of them before i-" quote:Parasitoid wasps serve as hosts for the virus, and Lepidoptera serve as hosts for these wasps. The female wasp injects one or more eggs into its host along with a quantity of virus. The virus and wasp are in a mutualistic symbiotic relationship: expression of viral genes prevents the wasp's host's immune system from killing the wasp's injected egg and causes other physiological alterations that ultimately cause the parasitized host to die.

I somehow doubt they have a siphon or a plan to transfer the gas from the buckets and into their car or generator.
|
# ? Aug 31, 2019 21:02 |
This happens every time. People wait until a few days before the predicted impact to mob the stores and gas stations to hoard as much water and gas as they can take. Filling truck beds with jerry cans and buying an entire pallet of water for a household of 3.

Jerry Cotton posted:Are jerry cans really expensive in the US or something? I would legitimately probably spill less gas with a loving Home Depot bucket than I do with the silly bullshit ventless fume capture gas cans that are mandated here. I have never, ever, not ever had one work as advertised. Not once. I routinely spill a quart or a half gallon any time I’m attempting to use one. This is not to excuse the idiots above, simply to express my pure hatred for ventless gas cans.

But still the lovely vented nozzles. That was a horrible idea/solution to a problem that didn't exist.
