The western Rockies will give you all the desert you need, plus also occasional corners, trees, and Mormons to point at. I went in April and had a day that went from this: first thing in the morning, to this: at breakfast time, to this: at lunch, and then this: at a fuel stop two hour later.

She originally wanted to fly into New York and drive across the country first and while I'd like to see the city lol if I'm sitting in a car for days on end driving through the plains. In any case it sounds like a great little extended holiday if we can get the time off and come up with enough money. A lot of yr flights connect near NYC anyway so you could potentially stop over if you wanted. I got the bus across the US once and while you get to see a lot of cool stuff it's all going by out the window, at least if you were driving you could make stops and explore a bit Driving up the west coast will take you a few days anyway though

Tesseraction posted:Literally only nazis say this. "Literally only nazis say our system treats refugees that have successfully entered the system pretty well" what the bollocks is wrong with your brain? Are you saying that our treatment of successful asylum claimants is so barbaric that nazis are pretending it's pretty good in order to what? Similarly wealthy liberal democracies treat asylum seekers so much better but nazis are pretending that isn't the case so more apply to the UK so they can suffer more? The legit criticism of how the UK treats asylum seekers is that it's too binary, there aren't easily defined 'good ones' and 'bad ones' and we need to help more in the grey area. But to declare that saying successful asylum seekers in the UK are treated comparatively very well must be nazi propaganda, that's actively counter-factual, get hosed. Flail around trying to back it up or gently caress off.
