mediaphage posted:3M makes some that work fine for concrete dust. They’re not as comfortable over a day though. Yeah, as long as it's just normal concrete dust from drilling/demolition even one of those little surgical masks will be good enough as long as you don't have pre-existing conditions. If it's *cement* dust then a proper respirator (and eye protection) is required.

If they hadn't started their deliberations it's all in the air still. They just want to know how to move forward if a particular decision is made - that's got no bearing on whether or not that's going to be the outcome.

https://www.isfparty.com/ Ireland Simpsons Fans may have made a political party. Is this memes? Who knows. I actually don't know enough about Irish politics to say whether they'd make any headway amongst ironic teens disaffected with mainstream politics. https://metro.co.uk/2019/09/19/ireland-simpsons-fans-started-political-party-give-voice-politically-homeless-10772665/ I don't know if this is going to split votes on the left, or if the left in Ireland is already so terrible that this may represent the great new hope. So far their content is migrants = good, landlords = bad, trans = good, tans = bad. They're 4/4...

The Irish left is split between Solidarity and PBP (two trotty parties in an electoral alliance), the social democrats, Labour (unreconstructed third way tendancy) and a handful of left leaning independents - together they command about 10% of seats, we recently lost two of the most high profile left affiliated independents who won Euro seats and thus by-elections are scheduled to replace them but I'd be surprised if those where filled by like minded individuals as that's a straight one winner race and a lot of their appeal is personal. Then of course there's SF with about 13% of the seats and the Greens who are currently on 2 but expected to take more next election - how you want to place them on a left right spectrum is up to you but left leaning for sure. Don't really see where the Simpsons party is gonna win seats tbh

It's the latter, in that the left in ireland isn't particularly strong. Not sure if this will change that but I admire their policy so far and they've stated on Joe that at worst they're in it to ridicule the right and try to steal their seats.
