AITA for warning a shoplifter that the store had called the police on her? Ok so first let me say I do not condone shoplifting in anyway. So I was at the (large corporate) store in my city the other day and I went to coustomer service to pick up a money transfer. While I was in line I overheard an employee on the phone with police stating that there was a young woman stealing make-up. They gave a detailed description of the woman including her hair color, clothes, backpack, tattoos and even the male she was with. After I picked up my money transfer I proceeded to the pharmacy section to pick up a few things. Once there I saw the young woman and the male that the store had decribed to the police. My mind started racing and I walked past her and did not stop. However after a minute or two of thinking I decided to approach the couple and told them that the store had called the police on the woman for stealing make-up and that most likley the police were on their way to arrest her. She promptly thanked me, put the make-up back and headed for the door. I do not know however if she made it out without being apprehended. Now like I said, I do not condone stealing in anyway. The reason I warned her is because I have been on the wrong side of the law for the majority of my life. I just in the last 2 years got sober and got my life together. I have been arrested many times in the past and spent a considerable amount of time in jail. Nothing good ever came out of me being arrested, and the fines, court fees, and loss of my license and jobs has seriously set me back in life and created a vicious cycle of getting arrested, loosing my job, then not being able to pay the fines and being arrested again for non payment. Also I really dont like police because of how they have treated me in the past, even though I was probably in the wrong. I just hated to see this young womans life be potentially ruined and be put through the grinder that is our justice system even though she was in the wrong. Also she put the make-up back so the store didnt loose anything. I felt good about warning her after I left and given the chance I would do it again. What do yall think? AITA?

This is the first time you've recognized your fiance's jealousy. Jealousy, like a reaction to poison ivy, doesn't really go away, but there is a way to deal with it. You must inoculate your fiance to it through acute exposure. Like an allergy, things will get worse before they get better and your fiance will either die or be cured of their affliction. To some, this is a barbaric practice of ages past. To others, it's just another day at the clinic.

I wonder how many people you have to date before you start forgetting people completely. I feel like I have had a reasonable number of people (though being gay is like easy mode) and I don't think I would just completely forget someone. Especially someone I rejected in clear terms after date 1.

My (26F) boyfriend (38M) has terrible phone etiquette and only uses speakerphone. My boyfriend and I have been living together for over 2 years and have been dating almost 3. He’s really close with his family and talks on the phone to his mom, dad, and siblings on a daily basis. The problem is he usually does this while him and I are trying to spend time together- watching a show, eating a meal, in the car together, etc. He will ALWAYS answer his phone with pretty much zero discretion. We often work opposite shifts so it would be pretty easy for him to talk while we aren’t hanging out, but this isn’t something that has seemed to have occurred to him. In the past, I’ve told him how him taking calls, especially while we are eating a home cooked meal together, bothers me. He seems to take it to heart for about a week or two and then it’s back to chatting on the phone over dinner while I sit in silence. The worst part? He always takes calls on SPEAKERPHONE. I hate being held hostage in a conversation that I’m not a part of and having to remain perfectly silent while I do so (he gets mad if I cough or make too much noise since the call is on speaker). Just today, in the limited amount of time that we have together before I go out of town for an extended period of time, he spent most of the time on the phone with his dad. When they were through, I explained to him that if he was going to be on the phone while we were eating and spending time together, could he at least not do it on speakerphone? I explained how his actions made me feel unimportant and dismissed and his only retort was to “Shut the gently caress up”. How do I make him realize what he’s doing is incredibly rude? He just seems to have no perception of standard phone etiquette. TLDR: My boyfriend is constantly on the phone with his family on speaker phone while we are spending time together and doesn’t understand why I think this is inappropriate

Lack of a follow-up date doesn't mean it was a trainwreck, sometimes you just meet someone and there's nothing there and why would you bother pursuing another date? I certainly can't remember every one of those and I only met up with 15-20 people in my online dating life.
