AITA for warning a shoplifter that the store had called the police on her?

Ok so first let me say I do not condone shoplifting in anyway. So I was at the (large corporate) store in my city the other day and I went to coustomer service to pick up a money transfer. While I was in line I overheard an employee on the phone with police stating that there was a young woman stealing make-up. They gave a detailed description of the woman including her hair color, clothes, backpack, tattoos and even the male she was with. After I picked up my money transfer I proceeded to the pharmacy section to pick up a few things.

Once there I saw the young woman and the male that the store had decribed to the police. My mind started racing and I walked past her and did not stop. However after a minute or two of thinking I decided to approach the couple and told them that the store had called the police on the woman for stealing make-up and that most likley the police were on their way to arrest her. She promptly thanked me, put the make-up back and headed for the door. I do not know however if she made it out without being apprehended.

Now like I said, I do not condone stealing in anyway. The reason I warned her is because I have been on the wrong side of the law for the majority of my life. I just in the last 2 years got sober and got my life together. I have been arrested many times in the past and spent a considerable amount of time in jail. Nothing good ever came out of me being arrested, and the fines, court fees, and loss of my license and jobs has seriously set me back in life and created a vicious cycle of getting arrested, loosing my job, then not being able to pay the fines and being arrested again for non payment. Also I really dont like police because of how they have treated me in the past, even though I was probably in the wrong. I just hated to see this young womans life be potentially ruined and be put through the grinder that is our justice system even though she was in the wrong. Also she put the make-up back so the store didnt loose anything. I felt good about warning her after I left and given the chance I would do it again. What do yall think? AITA?

You must inoculate your fiance to it through acute exposure. Like an allergy, things will get worse before they get better and your fiance will either die or be cured of their affliction. To some, this is a barbaric practice of ages past. To others, it's just another day at the clinic.

AITA for re-wearing underwear that my ex purchased for me?

Simple one.

I was clearing out some boxes of my stuff from my parents home last week and amongst my clothing, found a bag filled with very expensive Agent Provocateur lingerie. My ex was a big fan of seeing me in these so bought me many sets.I don't really wear expensive lingerie these days and usually go braless but decided to take them home with me to surprise my current boyfriend. I thought he would appreciate the novelty.

After he got over the shock and of course, the inevitable happening, he asked me if I had spent all our savings on lingerie worth £1000 but was really angry to find out my ex bought me it and has asked me to get rid of it. He wants it gone.

I don't want to. I look good in it and it's not like it reminds me of my ex. Am I the rear end in a top hat?

My (26F) boyfriend (38M) has terrible phone etiquette and only uses speakerphone.

My boyfriend and I have been living together for over 2 years and have been dating almost 3. He’s really close with his family and talks on the phone to his mom, dad, and siblings on a daily basis. The problem is he usually does this while him and I are trying to spend time together- watching a show, eating a meal, in the car together, etc. He will ALWAYS answer his phone with pretty much zero discretion. We often work opposite shifts so it would be pretty easy for him to talk while we aren’t hanging out, but this isn’t something that has seemed to have occurred to him.

In the past, I’ve told him how him taking calls, especially while we are eating a home cooked meal together, bothers me. He seems to take it to heart for about a week or two and then it’s back to chatting on the phone over dinner while I sit in silence.

The worst part? He always takes calls on SPEAKERPHONE. I hate being held hostage in a conversation that I’m not a part of and having to remain perfectly silent while I do so (he gets mad if I cough or make too much noise since the call is on speaker).

Just today, in the limited amount of time that we have together before I go out of town for an extended period of time, he spent most of the time on the phone with his dad. When they were through, I explained to him that if he was going to be on the phone while we were eating and spending time together, could he at least not do it on speakerphone? I explained how his actions made me feel unimportant and dismissed and his only retort was to “Shut the gently caress up”.

How do I make him realize what he’s doing is incredibly rude? He just seems to have no perception of standard phone etiquette.

TLDR: My boyfriend is constantly on the phone with his family on speaker phone while we are spending time together and doesn’t understand why I think this is inappropriate

I dunno, with online dating I think it's pretty easy to forget a one-and-done. Lack of a follow-up date doesn't mean it was a trainwreck, sometimes you just meet someone and there's nothing there and why would you bother pursuing another date? I certainly can't remember every one of those and I only met up with 15-20 people in my online dating life.

AITA for taking my 14 yr old nephew who was stoned to mcdonalds instead of calling.my sister?

quote:

So a little preface, im 31m and my sister is a 34f. She has 1 kid who is 14.

Growing up me and her both did drugs and drank heavily for many many years.... long story short we have no reason to judge anyone else.

So 2 weeks ago i visit my sisters house after work because my nephew had been texting me for a few hours prior and his...i guess demeanor? Seemed a bit off.

My sister was not home as she was working and my nephew had apparently skipped school. Now let me say this...he is very quiet..shy..and reserved but has a few friends...he has always been very well behaved.

When i walked into the apartment i think i caught him by surprise because he was smoking a bowl and practically chucked it across the room once he saw me.

We both kind of sat there quiet for about 20 seconds and stared at each other...

I finally said "youre probably starving huh?" He just smiled and said "yea"

We end up driving to mcdonalds and sit down to eat...i pretty much pull the adult card and ask him why hes doing this and what not.

he said blatantly "i just like how it feels, it makes me happy and not nervous" and went on to say his broken home life and issues at school kind of go away for a while when he smokes.

I can respect that and i definitely understand, weed helped my depression and anxiety and i had the same response to counselors and my parents...it just feels good

So fast forward to this weekend and my sister caught him smoking and asked if i had any idea. I told her what had happened a few weeks earlier and she freaked the gently caress out that i didnt tell her My dad and her are freaking out on me and calling me a child abuser because i didnt report it to anyone. Im at a loss for words, i love my nephew and i get where he is coming from and what he is going through as an adolescent. My dad is a saint and has never gotten so much as a parking ticket but im.furious at my sister who has been a drug addict, crack whore, been to rehab, arrested, and crashed 2 cars while driving under the influence. Ive stopped answering their calls and texts after sending them both a text saying they are loving hypocritical assholes and are so far gone from understanding what my nephew might be dealing with in his life. So AITA?

Am I being a crazy jealous girlfriend about a threesome or are my feelings normal??? (F21) Relationships
submitted an hour ago * by minionpro678

quote:

So me and my bf have been together for half a year and have been talking about having a threesome and looking for a third girl to join.

There’s this girl in his class who seen me on his lock screen and was like is that ur gf? she’s so pretty. Some time later she told him she was running late to class to get food and asked where she should get food and he said in n out and she brought my bf food as she came late to class. He told me this and made me feel weird like she had a crush on him even though she knows he has a girlfriend (me).

A few weeks later my bf was telling her about his weekend when me and him went on a trip and was showing this girl pictures and she was saying how i’m pretty blah blah then my bf jokingly said something like drat are you gonna gently caress my girl?? And she was like yeah i’d be down and then my bf realized she might actually be down for a threesome. He didn’t tell me this until later.

Also for context this girl is in an open relationship with her bf who lives across the country and they’ve been together for about 4 years.

My bf then asked her if she would actually be down for a threesome and she said yes and said her house is empty on the weekends. He told me all of this and I was kinda feeling awkward. I don’t know her and all I know is that it sounds like she a crush on my bf and she wants to gently caress him. When my bf first mentioned this girl casually I found her instagram and looked thru her photos and she is very pretty (way prettier than me) and basically seems like my bfs type. I just feel very uneasy about her being around my bf. And i’m jealous of her.

I told my bf I don’t want to have a threesome with her because I feel like she just has a huge crush on him and wants to gently caress him any way she can. I also would think it’s weird that she would just be in his class the rest of the semester after we’ve all had sex. But I keep bribing her up because I feel weird and jealous and I don’t know if I should tell my bf how I feel.

TLDR: This girl has class with my bf and is down for a threesome but I’m insecure and jealous.

EDIT: I’ve already told my bf before how I think she has a crush on him but now I just feel jealous every time she’s brought up or when they are in class and I don’t know what to do about this feeling!!!
