drat, I really like this weird oversize hoodie (I think its a knockoff of some brand or other) but I don't know whether to get the XL or the XXL; I currently have a 117cm chest and while it looks like it should be worn baggy I don't want to be drowned.

Buy both sizes. If that feels too expensive, you shouldn't be buying it from Aliexpress anyway.

An amateur racer decided to use a counterfeit seat belt from Aliexpress for a race

quote:

Neither the video nor the comments provide any clues as to where and when this was shot, but what's clear is that the man's brush with death was caused by a counterfeit racing harness. Accompanying the clip are a few photos—one showing how the belt tongues literally snapped off in the central buckle, and another showing the very same "OMP" harness for sale on Chinese retailer AliExpress for the low, low price of $36. It should be noted that OMP is a well-regarded brand whose real multi-point harnesses retail for as much as $750.

Obviously there's something fishy about a $36 version of a $500 product. Likewise, it doesn't take any special knowledge to understand that a legitimate piece of race-sanctioned safety gear will be manufactured to extremely strict standards using high-quality materials, while a fake will...not. Counterfeit racing harnesses have been crash tested before, and the results are always horrifying. But rarely is the danger of that reality shown with someone's life at stake

Why would anyone cheap out on safety equipment and then put themselves in the very situation where they will need that protection :psyduck:

My experimental 'lego' purchase turned up yesterday and I'm pretty pleased:

I'm out of touch on 'real' Lego Technic so I'm not sure how many of the parts are unique to whoever made this set - it's not a set that was ever released by Lego themseleves as far as I can work out, but all the axles and fastners are the same as I remember.
As for the model itself, it's pretty well designed, theres a proper diff, selectable transmission, which turns a crank and piston on the engine when engaged. For £8 delivered, I'm happy.

Ha Ha Ha... YES!
Had my first dispute and super easy resolution on that wallet. Sent the seller a message & picture which they read and didn't reply to. Waited 3 days, sent a dispute in with a very simple english explanation and the picture. The fact that I'd messaged them w/ no response led to a decision in my favor & full refund within hours. The Game of Thrones wallet they sent me is currently holding the endless pile of adorable $1 earrings which keep arriving :3:

I also have kind of soured on the "fit" of the Haylous, I find they slowly fall out of my ears (they have mass, not entirely surprising) and need to be pushed back in... which activates the stupid touch control. They're still exactly what I wanted/expected for $18. I may try the larger ear tips so they get in there a bit more snugly. I also had one fall out when I was hustling to make a train, which is kind of headphones 101 but also bad?

I might've posted this before, but to give people some confidence that sellers do also respond: one of the belt buckles I got had some paint chipped in one of the corners. This of course didn't impact the functionality, but it's something that's immediately obvious as it's a clear silver spot on a black buckle. They asked me if I wanted another buckle and sent it immediately.
