speaking of that, have there been any decent games along the lines of Jedi Outcast / Jedi Academy since the latter one came out? I played the poo poo out of both those in high school and replayed both last year.

edit: a shameful snipe

Nope. The only lightsaber actioners since then are Force Unleashed 1&2 which are both really mediocre and Fallen Order which just came out and is at least better than them, but has much more DNA from Uncharted/Tomb Raider/Souls/whatever than it does from the JK games.

sorry to derail, but its interesting something could be like uncharted/souls

aren't those two series like diametric opposites?

like, the exact opposite takes on 3rd person action games?

I’m not saying the two are alike, just that they’re both obvious influences on Fallen Order.

the combat is more sekerio with traversial/platforming with uncharted.

The character moves a lot like in Uncharted and there are Uncharted style linear cinematic levels. but the combat is Dark Souls-ish with an emphasis on parrying and some levels have a lot of exploring with rest points that respawn enemies when used. Combat isn’t anywhere near as hard as Dark Souls though I’ve not tried on the hardest difficulty yet. As the other user says it’s not like a copy of either but there’s a lot taken from each. Its really good

Ah ok, thank you, I heard "once a week" and didn't realize the first two were closer than that.

It's gonna be funny when it turns out the Mandalorian is better than the movie. It's already better than solo and force awakens

I actually really liked that second Mandalorian episode, especially the Jawa sandcrawler action scene. The whole thing really reminds me of Samurai Jack structure-wise actually, you've got a protagonist who doesn't say much and who's on a quest, he meets up with, befriends and helps someone, there's a couple of action scenes and maybe some montages, then at the end the protagonist parts way with the character he met after having either helped them or been helped by them, to continue on his quest. Repeat until done, with essentially each episode except the first one (which sets things up) being a self-contained thing.

I kind of actually hope they'll continue to be like that, because if that's so then I actually think it'll work if the Mandalorian never removes his helmet and doesn't really ever say much.

If you're comparing this show to it too, then that just means it's garbage as well.
