It's the 20s so get ready for a lot of people posting flappers and swing dancing and forgetting what happened at the end of that decade! Finally out of a decade that started with Gordon Brown ceding the narrative to the fascist papers, Alan Johnson passing some terrible and illegal legislation during washup shenanigans, the fash rags supporting Tories anyway in a huge shock, people pissed off that New Labour were just another bunch of authoritarian bawbags hopping on the Cleggmania wagon, which immediately fell over and a bunch of clowns exited and joined up with the Tories, there was a promised Great Repeal Bill that never happened, austerity was the worst loving economic decision ever made and a deliberate ideological choice that murdered hundreds of thousands, the Olympics opening ceremony brought together millions who weren't the homeless and sex workers chased out of London for the event, David Cameron promised an EU referendum afraid of UKIPs, accidentally won a majority because of a bacon sandwich and a monolith, hosed a dead pig, hosed a country, doot doo doo right, Home Sec now PM, hostile environment ramped up to 10, Windrush deportations, held an election against a fractured disorganized Labour party led by an anti-authoritarian leftist and lost her entire majority, Brexit stalls as nobody can agree on anything, and in the final moments of the decade a golem made out of racism and public school games involving biscuits wins a majority promising Brexit by the end of January. Also the housing stock is still covered in flammable cladding despite a massive tragedy. Subcomandante Marcos posted:In our dreams we have seen another world, an honest world, a world decidedly more fair than the one in which we now live. We saw that in this world there was no need for armies; peace, justice and liberty were so common that no one talked about them as far-off concepts, but as things such as bread, birds, air, water, like book and voice. This is how the good things were named in this world. And in this world there was reason and goodwill in the government, and the leaders were clear-thinking people; they ruled by obeying. This world was not a dream from the past, it was not something that came to us from our ancestors. It came from ahead, from the next step we were going to take. And so we started to move forward to attain this dream, make it come down and sit at our tables, light our homes, grow in our cornfields, fill the hearts of our children, wipe our sweat, heal our history. And it was for all. This is what we want. Nothing more, nothing less. Now we follow our path toward our true heart to ask it what we must do. We will return to our mountains to speak in our own tongue and in our own time. Thank you to the brothers and sisters who looked after us all these days. May your footsteps follow our path.
