Bushiroad NOAH wasn't good but Simon Inoki cannot under any circumstances be allowed to run All Japan. Anything is better.

I forgot to mention it but also maybe AJPW isn't actually getting bought out but possibly ending up a puppet fed like PROGRESS or Evolve which might actually be worse. Imagining Akiyama as a Gabe Sapolsky type figure taking orders from Simon.

Some people put 2+2 together when he emerged from barely tweeting to tweeting about Sareee going to WWE but it seems that Simon Inoki is involved with NXT Japan, possibly even being the head of it. It seems that he was the one who recommended Kendo Kashin to the performance center?

Also the article speculates about Bushiroad possibly putting together a rival bid to make AJPW into a "League 2" for NJPW which I'm not sure would be any better given how they handled NOAH.

Consolidation is never a good thing but if it keeps Kento away from WWE it's definitely the lesser of two evils. I'd love for Simon Inoki to grift the gently caress out of WWE, just not at the expense of All Japan.

As long as Bushiroad didn't fundamentally change AJPW's style or booking, I think I'd be okay with it

Besides, it means Akiyama gets to retire in the Tokyo Dome, something WWE could never offer

The gist being that they are scheduled to be back to touring on the 14th & the next show on the Network will be the show on the 22nd from Kobe.

While I'm thinking about these things, All Japan are also (currently) due back on the 14th with a show live from Shinkiba 1stRing on AJPW.tv

The DDT empty arena Saitama Super Arena show is incredible stuff. It has a full on best anime betrayal in the middle with evil laughter and everything the host following Konosuke Takeshita around in his quest to save Sanshiro Takagi from being kidnapped by Danshoku Dino was in cahoots with Dino all along and helped to replace Takagi with a doppelganger (Yoshihiko).

In amongst the main storyline, HARASHIMA and Aoki have a blindfold/bra match for the Extreme Championship that is top tier MOTYC.
