let's just face it, the us has accepted its complete and utter inability to coordinate any kind of advanced national response and is just hoping it can plow through the million+ dead before the election.

I think we had 3176 last week according to Johns Hopkins

lots of good C-SPAM disinfo on the last few pages. this is the remdesivir study, results are not out yet, but gilead said it passed the primary endpoint, which is time to recovery (note: not mortality). the trial was double blinded, placebo controlled, unlike previous attempts to juice the stock price. not much is known without the results being released, but my prior is that the clinical effect will be small.

thanks for that. I couldn't find info about which study it was, which is why my post was phrased as a question

I'll edit the post now that I know the answer

I figure the October surprise this election will be making it illegal to report COVID deaths, so TRUMP can claim victory over the invisible enemy.

My team spoke with our boss today and convinced her that it was pointless for us to go into the office unless it was an emergency (we have been rotating days on-site since last week); all of us can do our jobs remotely.

We'll be doing rotating on-call until further notice. :toot:

its not blackpilled to say this or that particular thing may not work very well/at all for a novel virus, there's a lot to be pessimistic about

blackpilled is saying nothing will ever work and we are merely grunting apes at natures mercy in this which serves a reactionary agenda (notice who uses the -pilled jargon in the first place)

look at these unrelated heart attacks that the LIEbruls want you to pretend had something to do with a virus!

vegas is still holding on. the mayor's "we should be a control group, i never said we should be a control group" bullshit scared everyone into shutting the gently caress up for a minute, trump wants casinos and hotels open (gee i wonder why) but so far literally everyone is giving him the finger from the governor, to not mobbed up mayors, to the casinos themselves who are installing sneeze guards on everything. the casinos say mid/late may.
i want all the legally liable to open their poo poo up before they force everyone else to open

edit: and gov sissolack joined the pacific states accord so all you non pacific staters can just...stay over there please...

on one hand, there's tons of evidence that remdesivir has almost no positive effect

on the other, it's easy to be optimistic about gilead sciences stock prices

well, the las vegas mayor controls all of las vegas, it's just that most of the casinos are in their own little city because the laws are looser when you're aaaaaaaaaaaall the way on the border and completely surrounded by incorporated areas. lol vegas.

The nice thing is that if it kills the patient because of its 1 in 4 chance of causing multiple organ failure, they died of that and not covid! Number go down!

I've had a weird bump above a tooth for like six months, and the minute I get into the dentists chair I start getting the hard sell for a $2000 root canal. I have 0 pain and no swelling, no trauma, no gum disease, just a little white blister.

Like loving hell I'm walking into an endodontists office right now, what was that dentist thinking?

So apparently my surgery is going to be done at a surgical center and not a hospital so that cuts down on my chances of encountering a roni carrier. Also getting a covid test Friday and then going into total isolation (like no one can leave the house for literally any reason) until my surgery.

Somehow I really doubt other patients are going to totally isolate themselves and their families until their surgeries because this is a chud state so welp
