Seize the Bean, a rather esoteric board game about coffee shops in Berlin that I backed in Feb 2018 and had an initial delivery date of September 2018 (which was very optimistic at the time) has been quietly plodding along. At the time, I lived in Berlin and fully expected to be able to play in a coffee shop the game was about. I since left Berlin a year later, and in the past few days the company, Quality Beast, have announced a new delivery date of... July 2021. :cripes:

By July 2021, you may actually be able to go into a coffee shop to play the game, at least.

Secondly, we have chosen to remove the knuckles from the Skull Dice design. This was prohibitive to the polishing process and had a high chance of breakage. A pleasant result of removing the knuckles was that it brought the rest of the design elements closer to the edge of the die. This takes full advantage of the 16mm size and makes the dice feel and look larger and makes it easier to see the details. So it's a win all around!

The normal way to make dice is by mass casting them with some rough edges, and then tumbling them for awhile to smooth them out.

Sounds like this mass production method can't really deal with the nubs at the corners. They'd snap off at too high a rate, or get smoothed away unevenly, and people would be rightfully annoyed.

So instead of rightfully annoyed at a broken product, they're rightfully annoyed at a subpar product.

As a father of three and a teacher, I certainly empathize with it being hard to find time to write. I haven't been able to finish a project in years... But I also didn't take people's money in a Kickstarter and then fail to live up to it. It's frankly irresponsible to run a KS without a mostly complete product, or at least a plan to pay for writing if you find yourself unable to write. When I run a KS, it'll be because I have a thing written and ready to publish.

You'd probably have to do something like casino dice and make the dice out of resin, cut out the design you want, and fill in with clear resin over it to roughly match the weight and get a perfect square die. It probably wouldn't be totally perfect but it'd be the closest approximation.

Anyway, this looks like a rad tabletop rpg:

A castlepunk Forged in the Dark roleplaying game. Mask up. Spill Blood. Drink the Rich.

Brinkwood: The Blood of Tyrants is a Forged in the Dark tabletop roleplaying game about building a rebellion that will overthrow the blood-soaked vampires that oppress and dominate your world.

You are a brigand, a commoner radicalized by tragedy who has decided to forsake their old life and flee into the woods to plot a rebellion. Cardenfell is your home, a kingdom on the brink of open revolt against the vampiric nobles and factory lords who rule over it. All it will take is a single spark. Your spark.

Whether you're robbing from the rich and giving to the poor, or assassinating vampires and drinking their blood, every move you make will take you closer to your goal: liberating your home from the vampiric scourge of blood rent and exploitation.
