The northern valley/central valley and the foothills will probably get dangerous if you are not white or if you are lgbt around the elections, I mean Chico has had People threaten BLM protest organizers so much that they barely happen and the proud boys hang out with the sheriff deputies in a bar, so uh please be careful.

Even if he was a creep at a party nearly 20 years ago, there’s been enough time for him to grow out of it. If he’s a lovely, abusive boss, then he’s literally like everyone else in government.

Trying to create a panic out of these things only serves to obscure how truly awful pelosi is & how laser focused she is on serving the ruling class.

We have no reason to think that Shahid’s positions aren’t genuine, and there haven’t been any policy based arguments against him at all. If you’re more comfortable with Pelosi in spite of that, then that’s part of why we’re so hosed.

Do you literally think that this weighs more heavily on a scale of justice than introducing someone like Guaido as the “legitimate” leader of a democratic country that overwhelmingly decided otherwise, in an election that was more free and fair than anything any american has ever experienced?

The discourse

Side 1: Self dealing progress bashing career pols like Pelosi, Schumer, McConnell, Richard Neal, et al must all be primaried and beaten, fast, in fact it's already too late to stop 90% of the damage they have done but we are still going to try.

Both parties will come out ready to lie cheat and slander to prevent this, but with our critical thinking skills we can evaluate each piece of evidence and above all avoid jumping to conclusions. We can't and won't elect abusers and we also won't allow the same canard employed against Alex Morse to become the silver bullet aimed at left leaning insurgent campaigns.

Side 2:

The minute I hear any allegation of wrong doing by a candidate, I launch my sprint to the finish line where I shout to the heavens - cancelled!. I will denounce them first and most loudly, and even months later I will spit on their campaign's volunteers if they text or look at me sideways. I don't care about whether the allegations are corroborated, sexual or non sexual, and in fact I'll conflate all allegations regardless of their specifics into what I call "the principle of the thing" or praxis if I'm feeling especially poseury.

And that's the key, more than anything: the principle of the thing is the little steppy stool I have that makes me feel safe and in control and regardless of how bad the results are electorally, I can climb up just those one or two steps and look down on everyone else and know that I was better, and I was first, and I was right. Black and white, open and shut case.

And if pragmatists or skeptics think they can teeter totter my steppy stool, well then they're going to find out what it's like to fight against the high ground.

Result: side 2 flawless victory!! Multi hit combo

If he was a creep 20 years ago and now today he’s an abusive boss, he hasn’t actually changed, he’s merely shifted to the societally acceptable way of abusing others when he has power.

If the argument becomes, “but he’s our power hungry politician who knows how to say and do the right things” then okay, there’s been growth on the left figuring out that getting good people to regularly run in politics and especially challenge the very powerful can be hit or miss given the risks involved. At times, it takes someone who desires the position and power heavily to even attempt the run.

It’s still icky.

And he also still had 0 chance.

Pelosi represents SF, the SF that comes out to vote and plasters, “RESIST” stickers on their travel coffee mugs, the ones holding the, “i would’ve been at brunch and not protesting if Hillary had won.”

Failure of the November Revolution? The left in America is the strongest it’s been in generations, while at the same time, it’s still relatively weak in comparison to the establishments. But without the efforts of finding and running and winning in local and races related to our Legislative wing, we won’t get to an actual Revolution using the processes we have. And we are going to lose things, but that’s not a reason to start running around pointing fingers at people and calling them insufficiently lefty and supporting the establishment and doing the exact thing that’s going to keep the left down without the establishment actually needing to do anything.

Some of you are living in a dream world. As soon as Bernie wasn't the nominee, it should have been extremely obvious to anyone that Buttar had no chance of winning. A hopeless campaign's only use is waving the red flag, ie getting free press to normalize socialist positions and driving the dissatisfied minority into organizations that will last longer than the election cycle. If we were more organized, it could also be used for fundraising, like a leftist Amy Mcgrath, tricking liberals around the country to donate on the basis of their hatred of her opponent, then funneling the money into places where it could actually accomplish something.

But we aren't, so his use was dependent on him being locally liked. It should cost you nothing to dismiss losing and disliked candidates, and you should reflect deeply on why you're resistant to doing so.

The goal is power. Not his, but mine and yours. Toss all this splitters horseshit.

Dashing? But I'm not even moving!

in other SF news you won't like hearing about, aspiring gentry driven to madness by homeless people existing have been reduced to making sock-puppets to spread yimby memes against socialist SF supervisor Dean Preston

quote:

On a recent Thursday, a Twitter account purporting to be one Emily Zeng, a District 5 in-law unit resident, disseminated a snarky and cutting meme targeting District 5 Supervisor Dean Preston.

No surprise there: This Twitter account, established in May 2020, exists largely to take umbrage with this district’s homeless situation, its current supervisor, and disseminate homespun memes; Zeng’s Twitter profile describes her as “Meme girl … Meme-ing to get my outdoor living room back in SF D5.”

What’s surprising is what came next — but not if you know how the Internet works. Within half an hour of Zeng’s midnight tweet, it was retweeted by around half a dozen other twitter accounts in what appeared to be a coordinated action. Within an hour, the meme was shared on the Facebook account of the new Moderate political group Vote and Change SF.

Zeng’s anti-Preston memes have been shared 16 times on Vote and Change SF’s Facebook group since Sept. 12. And, while the Twitter accounts incessantly retweeting her material are small, they are often picked up by larger accounts. All told, thousands of eyeballs are seeing this material. Considering Preston last year eked out a win over Vallie Brown by fewer than 200 votes, and considering those two are running against each other again, this is a real issue.

What doesn’t appear to be real, however, is Emily Zeng.
