Once! My dad took me to the car dealership or wherever thar had Bigfoot for a promo and we got there too late so they were taking it apart. It was cool in its own way.

That's the same way they transport the F35. Just pull out the P&W F135's and pop in some Continental O-300's, then tow it on the back of a lorry.

That'd be classic. Instead of running over cars they're running over ten gallon steel drums.

I bloody adore 190es, this is flipping awesome. Aesthetically I would have kept the 190e interior and dash, but I dig it.

Most of them don't need the crane, I think - that's literally the monster-est of monster trucks.
The rest of them have tires that are "only" about 6' tall.
It looks like a Micro Machine on the tiny little normal tires.

The Oka was designed as a replacement for tiny "cycle-cars" in the USSR, themselves designed to provide mobility for Soviet veterans with missing limbs.

There are other, more serious, uses for the Oka:

Awesome! Great to see this still kicking. Tell us more about the concrete trim, and have you got a closer pic of the switch mounts?

Came here to post this. We’re going to need to see this concrete thing.

Haha it’s just basically a mix of concrete and paint on the trim panels.
I wanted to break up the plastic with something tactile and “real” and came up with this. Really breaks up the flat black monotony and looks far better than shiny silver and whatever it usually is I think. I originally did it with concrete vinyl but it didn’t have the credibility I wanted.

It looks like it's applied to the stock dash inserts, so I doubt this is much of an issue, but the car is also caged, so "not much", hopefully.

1970 Vauxhall SRV concept. Sadly it never actually ran but the concept had active aero in the front (you can see in one of the other pictures the bit where it says Vauxhall is essentially a wing), electronically adjustable suspension and was able to spread fuel from the multiple tanks to even the weight out. It also had suicide doors for the rear passengers. All the instrumentation was adjustable, the seats were not. The wheels are sick, the giant gauge cluster on the door is not.

*edit 2: I've just been made aware of this site: http://www.mulsannescorner.com it's basically a racecar database and I clicked on a few things at random and some of them have quite detailed backstories on how they became what they are. The Nissan P35 story is pretty drat cool, the car never raced officially but in the end they were looking at over 10,000lbs of downforce at 200mph for 1663lbs of drag which is.......... a lot.

It's a geocities-rear end-lookin' site but if you're in any way a race car nerd you'll probably find something cool to read.

Oh yeah, I've followed Mulsanne's Corner for a good while. It's an amazing resource for some very obscure closed course racing information. Everyone should do a deep dive into it!

Fun fact about the Nissan Group C race cars is that the engine design was the basis for the current engines in McLaren road cars. (The V8, not the V12 as was to be in the P35...)
