Where else are you gonna store all that poop when you floor the gas? I'm sure it's got a system like those reach concrete pump trucks that funnels it into a safe storage area to easily remove.

gently caress the haters that tuck is dope and it’s done so super clean, also classic wheels on a classic German. I loving love it, even if I generally prefer static to air!

I still have no idea how people with cars that low actually drive. One of my cars is 11cm off the deck and it's a loving pain in the arse to get about in. I beached it getting out of Red Rooster a few weeks ago

That’s the point of air heh, they air up to actually drive which does make it look a bit off rolling.

Yeah before airbag tech really came into its own it was only the truly brave that rolled around in cars that low on coilovers. I recall a friend of mine having to plan out his route anywhere because his car was so low it would bottom out on cats eyes on the motorway, literally had to weave between them. It was insanely dumb. Bags are cheat mode but I can't hate on them, if you want your car lowwwwww but still be able to drive it, bags make so much sense. Pretty great amount of adjustment on them too. There are companies who offer aircups you can fit to your existing coilover setup too so you can run your car low and just pump up temporarily to get over stuff. Aforementioned friend now has 2 cars on those and fully rates them.

Makes me think about my dad’s stories from growing up and how they used to just lay frame basically on everything. He had a ‘56 Chevy in high school and back then the legal in CA was frame couldn’t be lower than the bottom of your rim, so they would fit the lowest sidewall tires at the time (which weren’t really that low) and then just roll these big rear end cars with scraping everywhere.

Elmnt80 posted:Honestly, I kinda dig it. That parking job is 100% wrong thread tho. Agreed. Also entirely in keeping with the car's style. Nothing says "gently caress you I do what I want" like a slammed classic porsche taking up both a handicap spot and half a pedestrian walkway.

Seems appropriate to me, that car is clearly handicapped.

I think in the future the only way to make parked cars look worse would be some sort of axle that extends the wheelbase when parked so the chassis drops down with the wheels outside the wheelwells instead of in.

Krakkles posted:This made me really curious (I think I'm a CA car law nerd, maybe) and in looking, I was able to find that there's a maximum frame height, which was last amended in 1987, which was itself an update of the 1959 statute. Unfortunately, no word on what the rule was before that (or, indeed, what it was before 1987). It's entirely possible that wasn't actually the law and the cops/sheriff in south lake tahoe in the 60s just wrote tickets for whatever they wanted!
