So in the war the Allies used to fly these big white bombers and the Nazis would shoot paint at them so they could identify them if they ever flew back and those are the spots that they hit the planes and someone said we should camouflage those spots and someone else pointed out that if every plane had red dots on it then they wouldn't be able to identify all of them anyway and then the Nazi AA gunners were so mad they threw their hats in the dirt and stomped around

Purgatory Glory posted:I've read the explanation and still can't parse it. Someone explain the plane picture please! The picture is depicting planes in WWII - Some of them were coming back with huge pockmarks and red marks where they're shown. Some top airforce brass wanted to wrap up those areas with the lesions to protect them, but other realised that this was a logical fallacy. This is why antibiotics to clear up those spots became common practice. Also, why we have excellent vet organisation, The Royal Canadian Lesion

We were in NZ a couple springs ago when we saw an ad for the U.S. DIY Network show "Mega Decks". The commercial itself was exactly as aired back home in the States, but the local network had added their own bumper. So it was, what, 30 seconds of "normal" U.S. commercial capped off by a Kiwi suddenly and a little too excitedly saying "MIGA DICKS! Tuesday at 8!" Got my Kiwi husband and I laughing (and our teen snickering).

I agreed to a middle name because it made the initials ATC. Also because who cares about middle names?

Instead they went with "Marie." Lame.

It does kinda look like he has one arm longer than the other but I don't know if that's the camo breaking up his profile or just he has lopsided arms.
