so i ran into my first actual scam, i bought a 1.50 dollar usb SD card reader, first the sender tried to get another 2 dollars from me for shipping and now it's listed as delivered when it in fact hasn't been delivered at all! they offered to resolve my earlier dispute about the shipping costs by proposing that i send the item back to get my refund, so i closed that dispute and opened a new one where i just demand a refund and gave as a reason that it's a scam. 1.50 dollars doesn't matter to me but i don't like scammershbag posted:but i... didn't. i typed the address in the bar myself the aliexpress website is seriously bafflingly bad, it's the worst webdesign by a major company that i've ever seen and it seems ridiculous that it doesn't get fixed. it feels a lot like early localization attempts back in 2002 when websites would get my location wrong all the time or try to force a certain language down my throat, instead of just letting me select it permanently on my profile when i try to log in from the netherlands, the log in button changes to hebrew. my username is "US shopper" and it persistently charges me in dollars although i changed it to euros several times. i also suspect that aliexpress just doesn't like firefox because it blocks some of its trackers so it gets confused and the language settings spaz out, or something like that

Just this morning my Ali home page is in Arabic, and when I change it back to English it takes me to the English-translated version of ar.aliexpress.com, which is still largely in Arabic. If I go back to plain old aliexpress.com it's back in Arabic.

I uninstalled it when it told me that it copied whatever was on my clipboard when I opened the app. Apparently it does that automatically and sends it to Ali. If it's doing that, I can only imagine the other poo poo it's collecting from me.

I'd love some advice if anyone has any. Placed an order (~$20 shipped) on Nov 27th. USPS lost the package at my post office. I confirmed with USPS, and even got an official email from them stating the package is gone and will not arrive, but they will not update the tracking, so it just still says pending delivery (since like Dec 20th). I opened a dispute (dispute is handled by Ali), and every 10 days since Jan 5th they just refresh the judgement saying "Package is still in transit, wait 10 more days). I've uploaded the email from USPS to them but it didn't matter. They just keep refreshing it.

I ordered a video fill light. The model listing has "RGB Model" with what seems like a hue wheel, so I'm hoping it has actual RGB(W) LEDs that I can adjust via the user interface, but in the description, all it shows are colored films, so we'll see. Also ordered a green screen fabric and a U-grip. 2 out of these 3 orders had shipping from Europe available for a few €€€ more shipping, so I took those options, which promised delivery in 8-10 days. Again, we'll see.
