Probably not those ones if they're that close to a built up suburban area like that. They tend to be a bit skittish in more regional areas but they get super tame when they spend enough time around people

The regional ones tend to more commonly interact with people by hurling themselves into the front of cars at high speeds.

When I lived in the bush I would wake up in the morning and kangaroos would be standing right up near the window staring in. It was pretty creepy

Nigmaetcetera posted:Are these things afraid of people? They look loving terrifying. They'll often go from one house to another in areas like that. If the development wasn't too rapid, they get used to people being around and tend not to spook easily. They can be fairly friendly as long as they're in control of the distance between you and them. They can absolutely do you serious damage if they're pissed off, though.

Thank you all for giving me something new to be frightened of. Never stand up tall around a kangaroo? So people standing up makes them mad? Demons, I say. I’m glad my local zoo only has wallabies, since they occasionally escape from their enclosure, and petting a wallaby on the sly is fun as long as the zookeepers don’t see you do it. Petting an escaped kangaroo seems like it would be much less fun.

Kangaroos are mostly just bouncy deer. Like any wild animal, they'll defend themselves if they think humans are being aggressive, based on their standards, and feeding them is a bit of a crapshoot. They're good eating, too.
