Bought a 3 day Northwest Terror Fest pass more or less exclusively for Ludicra. Any goons going? Had just discovered them in 2010, missed them on their local tour date figuring I'd catch them next time around, then they broke up as soon as the tour ended lmao. Covid uncertainty be damned, NOT THIS TIME. https://youtu.be/4BFUAOLXu-s

Excellent mid-paced death metal that exudes an incredibly dark aura. As mentioned in the bandcamp link it's definitely for fans of Dead Congregation, Grave Miasma, and Immolation: https://shapelessbeing-gurglinggore.bandcamp.com/album/dethroned-and-renounced

I thought this thread might find this interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKX9OjNy_NI (Warning: Nazi/Anti-Semetic content, it's a mini vice documentary on extreme right-wing metal festivals) Seeing inside one of these festivals is pretty horrifying, I don't see how a band can perform at a festival like that without supporting some sort of hate.

looks like the detroit metal scene in late 90s/early 2000s. its different now but back then you’d get active recruit attempts from the detroit hammers. dudes sieg heiling every band on stage. it got to the point that napalm death refused to play the venue.

i also went to some extremely sketchy fests as a teen back in the 90s and you would be surprised how many people are baking cookies for those

More bands should do this - less surprises though but maybe do like 2 or 3 days of shows.

I liked it but they are a band whose peak was 30 years ago. Surgical Steel grew on me a lot so this might too, but it still feels like a lesser version of SS (plus some Swansong) which in turn was a lesser Heartwork.
