even with how polluted so many environments are and how the entire planet itself is so polluted, i'm almost completely certain that pollution isn't genetic. so if we're able to fix this, things could actually not be totally hosed as long as we can keep loving. but holy poo poo sweet mother of satan do we have our work cut out for us.

everything is loving wrapped in plastic in this country. gently caress. and nuking the oceans definitely is a pretty loving bad situation right there, and then add on like whatever 20 or 30 other things that could end the world on their own just rolling along unchecked. prrrrrettty hosed.

while i do definitely think that we're kinda probably totally hosed, i do enjoy a good challenge and there really isn't a bigger challenge than "save the entire loving world agghghghghghh :supaburn:"

it's actually real life world war 3/the challenge of our generation

Sounds like it might fit the rhythm.

Anyway you seem very excited at the moment and as someone who has gone through that period of being highly motivated to "do something" to the point that I got my dumb arse arrested for no good reason. Take my advice - put that energy towards something other than environmental collapse.

right now we're at the top of a cresting tsunami. we have about as much chance of stopping the tsunami as we do going back in time to prevent the earthquake that caused it. there are some measures we could take to maximize our potential to survive what's about to happen: "curl into a ball!" some will say "try to body surf your way down!" will say others.

"lol" you say, at peace with the knowledge that you are going to slam face-first into the sand at about 500mph "lmao"

excited? sure. i like having a reason to live. my previous life goal was a feeble "end world hunger" but poo poo has totally loving changed in light of my recent learnings on the climate fuckedness.

that said, at no point am i planning on getting arrested or doing anything that would get me arrested

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yP-gbySDUJc

what the gently caress?

that's a big reason why i wasn't out in the streets last year even though my "friends" wanted me to, i just thought they were upperclass liberals because they had people to bail them out but if i get locked up i'm totally hosed and i know they wouldn't give a gently caress to come help me

bunch of motherfuckers out in the street "Fighting Nazis" without a loving purpose, goal, or strategy other than violence?

gently caress that poo poo

loving posers

they don't even know how to fight

if they had studied fighting at all, they would be like "oh, poo poo, maybe we shouldn't go fight strangers in the street without a clear legal justification" and i'm gonna go out on a limb and guess none of those motherfuckers consulted anyone who would be considered a legal expert before doing any of that poo poo

i'm still pretty loving pissed about my month long probation and ban and the mods probably didn't read what i said and then didn't read my loving email telling them they're full of poo poo for doing that (i'm uhhh...not a sycophant)

they accused me of defending the goon shooter and i absolutely did not. i do not condone or encourage violence, and especially discourage the use of violence with firearms. that doesn't mean i won't lol at nazi's who get shot, because the guy was asking to get shot if there ever was a motherfucker who was asking to get shot. i wish he was in more pain, but that doesn't mean that i encourage anyone to go hurt the guy. death comes for us all.

calling QCS/DND out on being a bunch of pansies who would turn in members of the french resistance given the chance is entirely different. it's not my fault that the mods can't read and react with their emotions instead of with rationality and poise.

sorry for the long rambling post, i guess i have a lot to say and don't feel like editing it down. i really, really don't like being accused of things that i'm not into. it's so loving easy to just label someone you don't loving know, though.

e: oh, yeah, and on top of that, i gotta buy back my loving avatar? what the gently caress. that's 5 more bucks? god loving damnit.

At least "fighting Nazis" might make a drop in the bucket of difference against the Nazis. You are totally powerless to end world hunger or stop climate change. You might as well dedicate your life to learning to fly under your own power. What a grand and intoxicating innocence. You are out here in a fight with the ocean. Please don't swim a mile off shore so you can hit closer to home. You are just going to drown where no one can rescue you.

Imperial core leftists are too cowardly and stupid to wage revolutionary war (at present time). But more importantly, irrespective of the fact that revolution is a non-negotiable precondition for the remediation of the climate crisis, it wouldn't actually enable anyone to resolve the climate crisis because there is no way to do so. You are advocating for revolution + magic.

^^^ definitely agree that people are too cowered right now. We need something like a Greta with 1000 times more charisma to move anyone to do anything

seems like people want to act like the only kind of direct action is some kind of unplanned performative stochastic poo poo with no operational security. Little wonder why they think accomplishing anything is impossible

I agree with you. I'm pointing out the actual implications of that position though, not advocating any particular course of action. Hell, even something like anti-imperialist advocacy in the core countries opens you up to legal and career risks. That would be doubly true if we had a chance of actually changing things.

TBH, there was a strong tendency on cspam last year to be r/riotporn with better politics. I am glad that naivete has largely been abandoned. I was pilloried for making observations along those lines then though because I was harshing everyone's buzz.

I should give a caveat, that imperial core leftists will need to engage in anti-imperialist (against domestic imperialism, now) class war whether or not it enables remediation of the climate crisis simply to continue enjoying basic civil rights, safety, leisure, housing, and so on. Fighting fascism is of course still paramount but we shouldn't have any illusions about any triumphs over fascism winning us a hospitable Earth.

That kind of movement doesn't only have to be about political structure. Maybe you could imagine a revolution where people are in mass forbidding certain technologies and sanctioning people for participating in environmental destruction. Honestly, the environmental angle could be what makes the whole question of revolution finally become salient to everyone

probably not though
