I told her it was not a good first job and that I have friends that could help her get a job but she said she wasn't interested. She's been pissed at me ever since and went to her dads house, and is saying that she won't come back unless I let her do it, because he will.

I just don't think it's a good idea and I don't want her doing it, and it's not a typical first job and may look weird on resumes and college applications. She and her father both think I'm being a jerk and say I have an “outdated” way of thinking.

Edit: Ok so this got more attention than I anticipated. Someone suggested I add further context. My boyfriend constantly pays things for me, whether it me surprises, dinners, outing etc. He insists even if I offer to pay so I reciprocated the gestures he often does for me. I only refused to apologise a) because he was only upset when he found out I'd upgraded his seat and not the airline and b) because his reasoning was 'he felt emasculated' which just seems like a toxic mindset that I can't ever gift something nice because of his ego/self esteem. Looking back I can see how he felt like I'd lied to him, I just (wrongly) thought this would be a fun surprise to make his first time flying even better.

My mum used to re-arrange our rooms while we were at our dad's house, and give away a bunch of our stuff. This might be fine when you're a 3 year old but not when you are a teenager. My sister and I would complain about it but she would just laugh, and I got so wound up about it one time that the next day when she was at work I re-arranged her room and hid some of her stuff. But I did a deliberately lovely job so had her dressing table half blocking the door and the bed in-front of the wardrobe etc. She was not amused but got the message because it never happened again.
