Popemobile inside popemobile is a good visual gag that works well in the moment but gets better (more horrifying) the more you overthink it

FreudianSlippers posted:Popemobile inside popemobile is a good visual gag that works well in the moment but gets better (more horrifying) the more you overthink it I just spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about the implications of there being a Car Jesus. Not only a Car Jesus, but a Car Jesus that was crucified given that there's crucifix iconography on the larger popemobile. THEN I started thinking, would it even BE a "Car" Jesus? I mean, is the internal combustion engine something cars are born with? Did they eventual evolve from earlier forms of wheeled conveyance, like Car Jesus was more like Chariot Jesus or maybe Farm Wagon Jesus? Also, would the animal used for the actual locomotive power be considered part of some kind gestalt being and it eventually merged and evolved into the internal combustion engine of modern day cars?

Weld the front wheels to a hydraulic lift and then turn it on.

Eventually the cars are going to have to decide between runaway climate change or making some pretty grim choices about how to reduce the car population. Also, do sidewalks exist?

Mauser posted:Do humans exist in the cars universe? The cars have doors don't they? So some time in the past they must have had people. Maybe a short film will come out one day that shows the cars wiping out humanity with bulldozers laughing while shovelling our bodies into huge pits.

It was a solid white cat named Salty. All good there. Last name Johnson. "Uh, Salty Jo-...Salty and his family, you can come into the exam room." My exceedingly innocent coworkers couldn't seem to understand why I was laughing so hard. Apparently the kids were allowed to name their cat.

Still genuinely better than the Ernie Cline "Pixar Unified Theory" that tried to make like Toy Story, Monsters Inc, and Cars all one continuous timeline. Holy gently caress that was some killallnerds.exe poo poo.
