If it's a small enough store and it's likely the owner make a reasonable offer, I've got a few that way.

And if they're local and say no come back later

The reasons are "I was into this band first. Everyone else is posers." Yeah. I knew rear end in a top hat punks back in the day and they were hardcore (no pun intended) gatekeepers. I also knew some cool ones that were just happy to share the music. I thought Fugazi records never went out of print and were cheap as well, but it looks like Repeater is going for $30ish on the normal market and is out of stock on the Discord website. All my Fugazi records have the price printed on the cover.

Yeah I know what you mean, but I don't think that attitude is very prevalent anymore. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm undercover punx and don't interact with the scene much anymore. That said, I definitely prefer to have original or an early pressing over a reissue. I buy reissues of course, but only if they're relatively inexpensive (aka used). I pretty much avoid remasters.

I have the Mob 47 EP, both reissue and first press. Even though there isn't a meaningful difference between them from a music perspective, the first press just feels special in a way I cannot articulate.

I actually didn't even listen to Fugazi up until a couple years ago. I always thought Minor Threat was overrated so I just wasn't interested. Once I found out Guy Picciotto was in it, I decided to listen, and man they rule. I'll also revise my opinion of Minor Threat to: the 7"s are good, really good, but "Out of Step" is kind of boring.

The prices at all of my local shops have gone absolutely crazy. I’m fortunate in that I don’t really have the disposable income to piss away right now so I’m only buying stuff on Bandcamp. But I was in at my favorite place a month ago and they were asking 45 bucks for Around The World In A Day. People don’t even like that one! I do, just to be clear. But still.

I'm so happy I got into this hobby about 4 years ago, or barely in time. Picked up most of my fave albums that I pirated growing up. Most now long out of press and or expensive as hell.

I'll prob get like 6 or 7 new albums a year but I'm so glad to have the base complete

This is Bum Wine by Intercourse. My favorite band that currently exists. (Which really just meant my favorite band that isn't Danzig era Misfits) This version is on bottle glass green vinyl and came with a forty sleeve that you can see in the background.

I got the band to autograph the sleeve and I got the current members who were in the band when Bum Wine and their earlier album Everything Is Pornography were recorded to autograph the albums. That copy of Everything Is Pornography on the bottom is a test pressing and has a picture of Megadeth glued over the band and a bunch of literal pornography glued to the cover.

It’s possible the records were priced to haggle. If a sucker buys them for 10 bucks over market, all the better. But if it’s a smaller flea market type place I’m pretty comfortable guessing the seller was ready to be flexible.

Old one was fine but it’s a very noticeable upgrade and it looks amazing.

There's an Instagram account of a European shop, I think, who refurbish vintage hi-fi gear and put them into wooden cases.

There is also a cat in their pictures sometimes.

Can't remember who they are, if I remember I'll post when they pop up in my feed again.

$1400

It's in almost perfect condition, though, with only two blown lamps. And it came with the wood case and even the original box, manual, and FM antenna. So overall yeah it was a lot but honestly I could probably sell it for more if I wanted to.

Not that I'd want to. We were using a Harmon Kardon from the early 2000s that was fine, but this thing absolutely kicks and I can't imaging buying a new receiver ever again.

Would any UK based goons be up for picking up 1 (maybe 2) releases for me from the next Record Store Day (RSD) on June 18th?

I'm looking to pick these up:

Definitely this one: Beth Orton - Central Reservation

Maybe this one, I'm on the fence: Beth Orton - Trailer Park

Please PM me to discuss. I'd of course pay whatever retail cost is, plus shipping to the USA, and then a little something for your efforts.
