It's maddening.

It's not just post-truth politics, it's post-accountability politics

And I don't know what it'll take - other than revolution or total collapse, or both - to walk it back. I feel like it's going to be practically impossible to stuff that toothpaste back into the tube, because it suits basically everyone in politics, media and industry

EDIT sorry, I'm getting depressing again

The media class lost their monopoly on the news to social media. It meant that they could pick and choose what issues to talk about, but also that if they wanted to bang on about something they could set the conversation.

Now there's a firehose of information coming out such that the media class are not actually a filter, they just desperately try to ride the wave of news to maximise engagement, rather than shaping the news to do so.

Returning to this discurse, I think the general view is that the stereotype of "black people are mentally inferior" is a massive part of the white supremacist mindset, which the JC, ostensibly being aware about long-held negative racial stereotypes, should be more careful with, but at the same time buffoon is hardly the smoking gun of them using dogwhistles.

The author sucks regardless and has Jeremy Corbyn Delusion Syndrome.

The version I heard before had the balloonist thank the person, correct course and land in Winchester. When his friend asks he says “I had no idea where he meant, but an answer as technically correct and useless as that I knew I had to be above IBM Hursley.”

I have been concerned that sunak's government would be boring and unfunny but this would be very good.

Initially I thought the first tweet was the entirety of the joke and was quite confused what it was supposed to mean.

It's an unforced error, and this early will just cement the idea that this is a continuation of the farce rather than the clean start they hoped to present.

Yeah the bit where they were both-sidesing actual hitler saluting white pride flag waving neo-nazis is probably the bigger clue as to their racism.
