I have some very bad news for you about how bad with money some people are with cars. Ford is still backordered for over a year on their $80k pickup trucks that also have $20k dealer markups. People take 13% interest loans over 8 years to get those trucks because a $35k pickup truck that can only haul 85% the same amount of weight as the Ford Raptor is an embarrassment. 99% of those people will never use it for anything heavier than a boat trailer or helping a friend move. 13% for 8 years on a $100k+ truck and they are still backordered.

I had $100 down on one since they were initially advertising reasonable prices. When the actual pricing hit and the dealer markups started, I bailed in a heartbeat. Besides, not like these gigantic 10,000 pound electric vehicles are any good for the environment, or safe for pedestrians... I'm building an e-bike instead.

I love that they have only realized in the last few months that perhaps this Ticketmaster is bad. A thing that everyone had been complaining about since I was in High School, and that had literally involved lobbying to prevent people from not using them since before smart phones were a thing. Leon Trotsky 2012 posted:I have some very bad news for you about how bad with money some people are with cars. While this is true, that was filmed at a dealership. Everyone in the video both has access to the best possible deals and financing, while also being entirely incentivized to normalize paying more for your vehicle of choice than your shelter of choice.

It isn't just the cost of these ever more gigantic trucks, but their very design is becoming ever more warped to serve their size. Lines of sight that are so bad that it shouldn't be street legal for a consumer vehicle. https://twitter.com/bontrager_keith/status/1495443890253357059

In general, the US doesn't want its citizens to sue foreign governments; it's similar to JASTA in 2016, and it's something that Congress has acknowledged would be a problem. It's not new or novel, it's a longstanding policy within the US. Yes, it sucks, but I think this was always expected.

Rigel posted:He literally has experience with prosecuting and securing convictions against American politicians, including a former governor. As always, we will have to wait and see, but a former governor isn’t a former president. I think it’s the “president” part that matters, it’s absolutely unacceptable to the ruling class to have that as a possibility going forward. Just untenable levels of possible accountability if we set that precedent.

Also he could be worried about potential lawsuits. Unlike trump (who he did a poll asking if he should be brought back) Jones actually has lawsuits stick on him. Like a dragon on its treasure hoard he might be worried his comically massive wealth could also be affected.

Framboise posted:Is it just a petty desire for dirt against Biden? Pretty much. Hunter Biden was a fuckup but he most likely didn't commit any actual crimes or exert undue influence on holders of power. But none of that matters since their goal is to make Biden appear corrupt in the right-wing mediasphere. The laptop is hard evidence of nothing in particular and the audience will assume that you are repeatedly bringing it up because it's important They also need to do something to counter the narrative that Biden loved and supported his son even though he was a fuckup, because even in the right-wing mediasphere you can't assert that it's wrong to do that and expect it to stick

The people who claim it matters couldn't even tell you why it matters because it's utter nonsense. It's noise designed to drive the particularly loony conspiracy minded members of the public further towards the GOP trough. It's the jangling of car keys.
