I got a message that I completed a contract and then when I went to check in with Melk it said "lol no" so I still have to kill 130 more dudes with ranged damage, and the number hasn't changed since even after four more missions.

I missed a good blessing 330ish power voidstaff in the shop by 15 coins, decided on a whim to use my stockpile of crafting mats to bring a 377 power staff from a blue that hit a low tier mod to legendary to see if it hit transfer peril.

Cowcaster posted:to the person who was theorizing that mashing quickplay might be the reason you're not getting weekly mission results for things, i can definitively confirm that's not the case. i quickplayed something where we picked up a bunch of scriptures, and i manually selected a mission where we picked up a bunch of scriptures, and i'm sitting at 0/12 scriptures collected for this week. Yeah, I did some more missions later with a friend, we queued up together and started fresh, he got credit for no missions, I think I got credit for mine. Just to note, I never hit quickplay, I always selected my missions. Ra Ra Rasputin fucked around with this message at 06:01 on Dec 6, 2022 |

Cease to Hope posted:it does make the "ineffectual" noise. it does more damage than spamming heavy melee attacks from most ogryn weapons, and significantly more DPS than most "plink"/blue spark hits tend to. it's not amazing, as it will take about a full magazine to kill a 5* crusher with a 400-425ish stubber, but it's better than the vast majority of ogryn weapons. The Mark II Ripper has full auto for the braced stance. I actually prefer that, because you can fire one shot at a time to get headshots without the burst recoil or wasting ammo. I just got an orange-tier Ripper as a Gift from the Emperor, but it's a burst fire model and the perks are sustained-fire based. Does repeated burst fire count as sustained fire for gun perks? The Ogryn Slab Shield skins have come with a different club:

After none of my weekly quests tracking yesterday only two of them aren't today, the ones that involve killing dregs/scabs in melee/ranged. Progress!

I just checked my Mk VI and it's burst-only, it stops firing if you hold down the button. I was slightly wrong about the Mk II, single click is 2 shots but holding it down is full auto. I made a quick vid to show the difference in recoil: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSvcr_1SMfI

FWIW, in my experience, the Ripper Gun is often more useful for split-second murdering a specialist, especially in a crowd, compared to the Heavy Stubber.thatbastardken posted:is this thing worth upgrading? IMO no. That gun is pretty awful in general. Take it to the testing center and you'll see. The one I had, at least, literally did zero damage to a Crusher at point blank range, despite knocking it down.

Besides warp nexus that might be the best staff I’ve ever seen; sick rolls and with the peril perk + perfect warp resistance roll you’re gonna be able to manage hordes like crazy 10/10

Yeah from my experience the Ripper Gun ain't bad for snapshotting specials in a tight spot, and hosing down incoming ragers which I've found to be surprisingly annoying as Ogryn. I understand that the Grenadier Gauntlet might be the best anti-special/elite ranged weapon for Ogryns, though, especially since you can reach out and slam Gunners, Reapers, and Snipers with it.

~400 rounds on vet which isn't like, a ton but decent enough you can reasonably stretch the supply over the course of a mission. When crafting finally hit I'm putting Crucian Roulette on top of Stripped Down probably since the blessings aren't anything to write home about, but the baseline stats are good. The one you have is the variant I like the least (highest RoF and DPS, but lowest ammo efficiency and there's no pen so it actually blows against hordes (despite how fun it is to dump with that RoF) but it kinda shits DPS. The Graia is middle of the road between DPS and ammo efficiency (and my personal favourite) and the Agripinaa does the highest damage per shot and is the one that's going to have the least ammo issues in my experience (despite having lower base ammo) but the DPS is notably lower (both of these have pen so they're better against hordes).

The auto gun can kill like 10 elites\specials under frenzy fire in 2 seconds on malice difficulty so i think it's gonna be my fun gun. Im trying to roll a kantrael mk12 with stagger and increased damage based on stagger for my main non bolter gun.

I hope they add a way to favorite your items or some way to organize them, they start to stockpile after awhile if you build up gold and check the shop for crafting parts.

Insert name here posted:Honestly I think the Infantry Autos get the biggest glow up from low level to high. At low levels they suck but at high rolls I really like them; I'm using this one on the reg and it shreds: I'm glad to hear this. When I finally got how the item power system worked, I suspected as much that high levels would enable some lovely or outdated feeling guns to stand out in a niche. I have similar hopes for any melee weapon with finesse/crowd control, as they directly affect attack speed which is the usual god stat. On the topic of Thunder Hammer VS Eviscerator, I had a game where, no joke, 5 melee Scabs just kept loving running-attacking me in the face all in a row in between heavy swings taking each one out, bringing me down to half health from full. With my Eviscerator, I managed to salvage a team wipe in a diff 4 game where we got jumpscared by a Daemonhost in the middle of a heavy swarm (diff 4 doesn't gently caress around, it rules) and I drat well knew I wouldn't have clutched if I was using the Thunder Hammer. I'm afraid I'm going to have to give it to the massive chainsaw sword, but I suppose I'll keep the TH around since it has good rolls and might get balanced down the line.

Since we're posting weapons, this is what I'm using. The weapon stats are ho-hum but the modifiers have been unmatched by anything I've tried to roll since. Hoping I can transfer them to a good base gun whenever crafting happens.

Definitely feeling the lack of crafting in the game right now. I'm a level 23 Psyker with an item level 244 Force Sword I've had for a good 8-10 levels because they've barely showed up in the shop and I did not know you could still buy stuff that is above your current level in the shop until yesterday, so the ones I did see slipped away before I had the money to get them. It still shreds things at the level in playing at but it's hard to get an upgrade for these rare weapons right now

Apparently the Green Dust problem exists again in Darktide - as higher difficulties change the ratio of plasteel:diamantine drops, so you end up with too much diamantine and not enough plasteel, unless you run lower level maps.

Weirdly enough every time I ventured into difficulty 3 so far, the pubbies I got were remarkably on point and we usually pulled through. One time I even managed a two-grim run on difficulty 3 with only pubbies, most of us under level 20.

Got zealot to 30 and decided to start working on a psyker, had a 4+1 game just now. Still hectic even with the extra body. Warp charge mechanic feels kinda iffy/annoying to me, cripples the flow of things for me at least at lower levels. Would be cool if it had one of these changes : -Psychic Communion being a default part of the class -Scale down charge time /peril cost for trash slightly -Increase duration of the warp charge buff.

The first set were a bunch of level 10s, the second had two 25s that played disappointingly bad. I should've quit when I noticed that they were absolutely struggling with first big objective event TBH. Bad night, I guess.
