At least around here I'm not sure everything is landfill-bound.

Saw that happen at a gimmicky seafood restaurant in Vancouver for my niece's graduation celebration. I thankfully ordered something else, but someone pulled a lobster tail from their shared bucket, cracked it open and it was kind of a black paste inside. Exceedingly gross. I guess that's what they look like when they rot.

I'm not a big bagged salad person but the dill pickle salad from costco was pretty good. Also for murphy bed return man just sleep with your head on the opposite side. You've already decided to be a murphy bed owner what difference does it make?

Recognizing that liquor laws are state to state and typically bonkers, even before getting into however Costco picks what to sell: if a Costco in one state is selling a booze I like a lot for pretty good price, is there a good way to ask my local Costco to sell that booze? Or really anything - I know that Costcos will carry more local selections (e.g. beers from local breweries) but how unlikely is it that they could be convinced to sell another store's local stuff, particularly if it isn't perishable?

maybe its just me, but theres usually a pretty good chance ill run into the alcohol guy at my local 'co. i usually see him stocking and facing the shelves, but he's also their buyer. ive asked before about getting back items that they used to carry, and it sounds like they don't have much power over that, but if it's still available in the system they might be able to help you

It’s called pin rot, it looks gross and is an inspection fault but just scrape it a little with your fingernail and it’ll come off. Cauliflower is made up of bunches of tiny flower buds and those are just the oldest ones buds shriveling up like any cut flower.

I’ve only rarely had issues with the bagged Sweet Kale Salad I get from the ‘co. Typically I just double check the expire date and a once over the contents before it goes in the cart. Helped me meet my calorie goals and lose 100 pounds in a year and a half so I have no complaints! But that once over and checking the expire date are critical. My local store has a tendency to leave out bagged salad until the expiration date. Which they absolutely have the right to do but I’m not finishing 8 servings of salad in a day.

It a thing, you'll see people down on their luck going through trash cans and pushing shopping carts full of empty bottles, with bags of empty cans tied to the sides. It's depressing really, that you'll see people forced to make a living off of bottle returns. In NYC the deposit is 5 cents, but there was a distributor near where I lived that gave you 7 for some reason. They didn't have machines either so you'd roll up with your bottles and cans, they'd count by hand and give you cash. It doesn't really happen at Costco but the concentrated smell of stale, old beer in the bottle return rooms at most supermarkets was enough to make me stay away and not bother returning my bottles. Now that I can use the Costco machines, eh, it's not worth the extra effort for a few bucks, and I'm extremely lazy.
