I dont think the depleted uranium armor is super secretive or likely to be much more effective than whats on a modern leopard 2. The abrams has been offered with DU armor for export several times and the customers / potential customers have turned it down before.

That vid was posted a few days ago via twit either in this thread or the D&D one with the commentary that its capture enabled UA to listen in to RU comms for nine days. IIRC they were able to gather intelligence on movements (and possibly some artillery hits out of it too). Can't find the post though.

Russia has been infamous for broadcasting in the clear from the beginning of the war. Literally making the same mistakes as when they invaded east Prussia in 1914.

I'm starting to come around to the idea that more than M1 Abrams and Leopards, Ukraine probably needs shitloads of modern AFVs like the Bradley with updated optics.

I think Ukraine has plenty of ATGMs, T-72 variants and so on. So if the Bradley does the spotting and reconnaissance backed by infantry and their TOW missiles the T-72s should be able to do their job well enough in an offensive capacity where required.

It's not perfect but it could allow for things like night assaults where tight communication between the tanks and western style AFVs allow them to be the eyes for the tanks who can coordinate their fire for effect. It's an extremely strange army where two vehicles designed to counter eachother are working side by side to fight others.

I think Perun said something to that effect. Ukraine needs a long-term plan to move tanks to a western platform, which means hundreds of them. But the more immediate need is good APC and IFV. They're using them a ton and are attriting them hat a much worse rate

"Transatlantic Partners" (plural) is a standard phrase that refers to NATO. Springer is just pretending not to know that.

It's a long-standing German position, that tank deliveries will be done in coordination with allies. Like the IFVs announced earlier. There's literally nothing new there.
