And I've always gotten what I ordered within a couple weeks vs. a couple months from aliex. I never order stuff over about ten bux tho

I am on the opposite, 80% of my recent aliexpress ordered arrived in 10-15 days, half of them are combined shipping. So Temp is not faster for me.

I haven't really done a post in a while but here we go!

Recently got a TurboGrafx-16 for free so got myself the knockoff Flashcart for it:

Notice the TG-16 and PC-Engine switch - that MATTERS as they switched the pinout between the two regions

If this is your first time with HUCards, you have to push them in HARD. I've seen reviews complaining that it wont work cos the power switch fouls on the card, this is due to not inserting fully.

Tried a few games I also own legit ;) and works great!

Also been mucking about with Saturns so a RAM/Pseudo Kai Cartridge was in order!

I have the older version of this one (1S), it's theoretically 1080p but looks worse than that. Has WiFi, but the downside is that there's no way to mark or protect a clip other than through the voice command which kind of sucks as you have to shout something like "SAVE VIDEO" over the road and engine noise, and sometimes ti gets false positives. For the price it's ok though.

Well it saves all videos, obviously. But there isn't a button to just have it move the current clip to a different folder or otherwise mark it.

This wouldn't be a big deal if your car is on its roof and burning, you just take the newest file or check the last few. It's just annoying if you want to look up the time you caught some idiot doing something stupid on the road.

What do you think it means, bitch?
Temu is faster (and free shipping) and actually has customer support, which I’m not sure Ali does. It seems like they have a central processing/mailing point, which means fewer shipments from all over. Everything I’ve bought is on par with Ali. Selection seems less, but Ali is kind of like the Wild West.

Mostly I need to stop buying (both places) my fake Lego army is looking good though. Crab buddy is cool, iron giant to build and Treebeard on the way. There is literally every set scene from LotR in Lego on Ali. Including a 100,000 piece Minas Tirith for like $5k

The little music boxes have been surprisingly decent, lots of legos for the family (some of the stuff on Temu is tiny tiny, not sure on Ali). Ordering some jewelry now, see if it’s worth a drat or not.

I've always questioned these. I live in Minnesota so it can get extremely cold. I keep my bike outside so do the pogies just trap the cold air in when you use them? Do the light gloves + pogies just sap the head from your fingers into the handlebars? I'm imagining that they're good for windy weather if you're pulling the bike from inside but I'd love if they just worked for every situation.

I'm in Denver, Co. So it gets cold but different kind. I have 2 sets, neither this heavy duty. I use BarMitts neoprene ones for dog poo poo cold days ~10f to -10f (I don't go below -10f). For anything above, I have BikeIowa Pogie Lites. They're lighter and better for when its mostly cutting frigid wind. I keep my bike in the house at night, but leave it outside in a cage/parking garage in the day. Your hands add a surprising level of heat that gets trapped inside. So it starts out cold but warms up pretty fast when you get moving.
I was thinking this was the bike commuting thread. Pretty sure I've seen people from MN in there with Pogies.

Another difference between Temu and AliExpres is that Temu spam you with e-mail 6+ times a day by default. I feel like I've only ever gotten maybe 1 email a day from AliExpress for recommendations before I unsubscribed completely.

I used bar mitts for 1 winter (NYC weather, not that cold). IME you have to block the other ends with either scarf or arm warmers to block out the wind, then it gets very comfortable.

I only stop using them because every food delivery guy in NY have really ugly mitts plus white plastic bags on their ebike. I don't want to look like an Uber eat guy.

Do these do what I assume is necessary in terms of level shifting of the voltages? I know for the NeoGeo multicarts, as well as the "popular" Megadrive/etc. flash cartridges before they were updated, they'd just apply the 5V buses from the consoles direct to the 3.3v ports of the FPGAs, which will eventually burn out either the console or the cartridge, or both. I actually have a Neogeo one I got before I learned this and it did burn out, hopefully without taking the Neogeo with it.

One of the items in my recent order was out of stock and Temu refunded me for it and gave me a $5 credit in addition. That credit is more than the value of the item I ordered.

Looks like they'll give you a $5 credit if items are delivered after a few days (looks like 3) past the estimated delivery date, too. I've yet to have that happen, though.

No idea if those credits will be honored when I go to buy something. There will probably be some rigamarole and shenanigans and perhaps tomfoolery.

I got the P2 Pro for the Uni-T store, they don't seem to have it any more but it's this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004661804341.html

There are a few other goons with better cameras.

You might want to wait for a sale and use some coupons, you can get it down to around $200.

It came in a pretty big box with a pouch and USB-C cable, and the macro lens was in a separate box.

A plate of rotelle with cold sauce from the fridge

Building on the other side of the street, maybe 30m away

Same street, below

The lens is fixed focus with hyperfocal distance maybe 50cm (guessing, didn't measure), so anything much closer gets uselessly blurry. Here's a PCB of a cheapo electronic load:

Same with the macro lens (the big mosfet from the first shot is in the top right corner), you can clearly see the really tiny SMD components and even traces, something is clearly too hot here:

https://i.imgur.com/i7AZaQu.mp4
(Check out the person and dog at the beginning, the recently parked cars, and the apartment on the opposite side that has an open window and is venting a ton of heat into the atmosphere)

The app is a bit wonky and sometimes won't immediately recognize the camera, or won't rotate the image (like that video for example). You can lock the scale to keep the colors consistent, but actually manually entering the range doesn't seem to work. There are a bunch of different color schemes you can choose.

Mostly it's fine though imo. There's a basic mode which shows you the center point and min/max spots. In "pro" mode you can choose your own points to measure or even draw lines or rectangles where it will calculate separate min/max/avg values for each. It lets you adjust the emissivity, ambient temperature and distance to the object, all of which affect measured temperatures. You can also just use it with your PC, it's recognized as a camera, but you'd need some software to actually do any measurements.

I'm pretty happy. The resolution is easily good enough that I never was like "uhh I wish it was higher", though obviously more is better. You also don't need the visible-spectrum camera like the FlirOne has since there's enough definition to tell what's what. The macro lens works perfectly. There's an extended range mode that goes to like 500C in case you're on fire.

If you want to spend a bit more then the T2S is supposedly better as it uses a bigger sensor and has an adjustable focus lens:

You would have trouble there aren’t that many listings for size 47 which is as close as you are going to get to 13s. If you don’t wear thick socks a 47 should work but that’s the biggest I’ve ever seen on Ali
