Is there neo liberal city builder? Like just sit on you rear end and privitize everything. Announce public-private partnership with stupid acronym and doesn't put up any actual money. Organize democracy summit; organize poor country-leader summit that has no agenda set. drat this game loving empty, how do you drsign to win the game? I have no idea.

Although the NATO part is fun. Keep announcing mil alliance expansion until your geopolitical enemy launch a war. Blow up undersea infrastructure etc. But how does it increase your own map's growth stat? I have no idea

you could make that kind of game if you made it very obvious how hilariously stupid everything was getting and gave the player an option to not be stupid and made failure winning and winning failure

like in Oiligarchy a game about US dependence on oil you can do things like open the artic reserves and watch all the cute animals die, occupy Nigeria and Iraq, eventually convert surplus humans into oil. the best ending is where you you become obsolete because society no longer needs oil

so in this analogy you’d win* by privatizing everything and triggering total collapse, you lose* by embracing socialist development at a certain point in the game and becoming at least a Lula style politician

Been said that most citybuilders basically treat gentrification as your ideal goal and main means of progression. That said, you can't just build factories, neoliberals don't even know how to do that

Also that the og Railroad Tycoon requires you to run your company with constant growth no matter how realistic and that means massive shiny new lines every quarter or your shareholders will revolt

at face value, facilitator means they can host the talks, but they wouldn't be involved in the content of the negotiations

if china mediates rather than facilitates, then nato countries have no reason to be involved at all unless they admit they're party to the conflict that requires mediation.

No matter how you call it, China will just say "oaky" and set up the hosting facility, and pass the ball to the US. And the world will see US is the one finding new excuses not to engage in peace talk.

No, the US will sabotage negotiations the way we always do, putting absurd preconditions on one party before negotiations can start.

  • President of Kenya tells citizens to get rid of US dollars

US is not going to do it anyway, because going to the table (setup by the Chinese) is perceived as a lose to the Washington blob. US can not acknowledge other countries especially China want peace. They can't!

Preconditions solves this!

Require full Russian disarmament before showing up. Then when China doesn't support that demand, call them not serious.

China might launch a media offensive outlining exactly how the US fucks up the negotiations though.

Sure, it won't change a lot of opinions in the US or Europe, but the rest of the world pays attention.

We are going to be stuck with some sort of capitalism one way or another for the future, the choice is if you end up with a system dominated by a select group of West countries (really run out of DC) or competing power blocks of state capitalists (depends on your perspective of the PRC) powers that know that some sort of stability is necessary. I don't know if the yuan replacing the dollar would be that great of an improvement either, if anything the world is better off without a dominate reserve currency even if the PRC is probably the preferable one in the lot.

state capitalism is just the lower phase of communism. it’s literally the process of socialism necessitated by the imperialist world system.

the concept of a reserve currency is one of those categories of capitalism that will whither as the age of imperialism comes to a close. it’ll be replaced by modern forms of the bancor ie the sur in latin america and mutual currency swaps as in china-russia and china-saudi arabia

There was a nice old city builder, Caesar III I think, set in ancient Rome where if you developed your housing tiles towards tax income you ended up with low population patrician villas that ate up your high density insuale apartment complexes. This created a whole lot of homeless population that would leave your city unless you basically built emergency tent cities in their direct path towards the map edges. And if the homeless did leave your whole economy could crash because you had no laborers. Because laborers filling various jobs had to physically walk around and do their thing for development to actually be maintained. So if you accidentally gentrified your main housing districts your whole city development and economy could unravel and you would have to disband your defensive armies or they could rebel and wreck your poo poo due to not being paid, alternatively they could simply become too small for handling any random invasion or gladiator uprising.
