Can't wait to read how much less than $0 PNC will pay for the twisted wreckage of FRC after factoring in gov't support/guarantees/hand waiving.

Also can't wait to see if the consortion of big banks that deposited billions will have any kind of deposit haircut in this shotgun wedding scenario. I mean lmao either way, but probably safe to assume capital will somehow make it out of this unscathed.

When they made games $60 in 2006 that would be equivalent to $91 now. Good thing wages have gone up and they aren't stuffed full of microtransactions and frivolous gachas.

Video games were 60 until thankfully the indie and digital distribution revolution happened. Now only the bad games are 60 and the good ones are 20 or less.

It’s almost like Valve figured out that many massive discounts throughout the year on digital goods drive a huge increase in sales numbers. Maybe Sony should look into that.

It doesn't help the major studios that there are enough independent game makers that you can find a shitload of games in the $10-$30 price point that have shitloads of re-playability that are also updated for free for sometimes years after the fact so much that you can get multiple full play throughs that feel new from a single game.

The last AAA full price game i was dumb enough to buy didn't come with 90% of the DLC "Seasons" poo poo, i finished it in a single day and never touched it again.

IMO if your AAA game can't offer me a better experience beyond streaming it for free then why would i want to buy it

This is why indie is probably the way to go in modern gaming. Few if any indie developers pull this sort of poo poo on people.

eh. the problem with indie games is that most of them never leave early access, either because the dev gets burned out, or because they decide to bail after making a decent chunk of change

i dont know why we are supposed to consider how much time people put into something because whether something is worth X dollars is a matter of how much value it offers to the buyer

Every Call of Duty costs a billion dollars to make and has 10,000 person years of effort put into it, yet they suck.

Factorio is made by a handful of nerds in Prague and kicks rear end, and also costs half as much to buy a copy.

why should you have to pay more to some bad company cause you play the game for 100 hours? you're not getting expensive hardware cartridges or thick manuals. the games are buggy and fixed well after release if ever. it's not like the higher price is helping the hardworking gamecrafters.

If you're pricing things based purely on how much they cost to make it should cost one hundred dollars to see a modern american film but for some reason that hasn't happened

assumption: that the complex system of an ecosystem which changes by evolution is analogous to the complex system of human economy and that it over time also changes by evolution.

assumption 2: that a mass extinction in an ecosystem is functioning in an equivalent way to a violent revolution in a state or economy in terms of what happens to the system.

if niches in ecosystems eventually reappear after extinction events, then economic niches would eventually reappear after revolutionary events, filled by different species (societal groups/individuals), but doing the same things to survive after an interregnum

The specializations you are posting about are niches. Classes are categories of economic niches.

i'm very sorry bar, but i think i still don't really understand what you're getting at. how is a mass extinction event equivalent to a violent revolution? what does violent revolution have to do with what I said? what makes you think my view implies that the problem of controls and stability would be erased after a revolution? i'm genuinely not trying to be obtuse and, as always, i'm very interested to understand your thoughts, but I feel like we're talking past each other here.

poo poo up the economy, jack the price up to $70 because... well because gently caress you that's why it's not like labor costs went up and there's no physical inputs into a videogame.

glasstops (non-induction) are cool until your pots get ever so slightly dented then they suck rear end because it turns out air sucks at transferring thermal energy lol.

that's probably most people's problem with them, they take 20 minutes to boil water because they're nearly perfectly insulated from the cookware. even a cheap set of new pots works wonders at making everything cook so much faster.

i'd buy a new one but lol, lmao everything has a chip in it now and it takes 15 minutes to boot up the hampster-powered tablet touchscreen to turn on the stove or gently caress around with pairing your phone to it every time you cook. this is apparently called "progress".
