My current kitchen scales work fine, but they drain the batteries when they are off (soft touch on/of I assume is the culprit). Does anyone know any that have a real power switch? I don't use them very often but I still get tired having to take the batteries out after I use them.

I don’t have any suggestions but I had a similar problem, nice scale but drained batteries when off, and it took pricey button cells. My solution was to splice in a proper switch and hot glue it to the side. Then a housemate stole the scale when he moved out and of course I didn’t notice for a couple of months when I next went to bake. I suspected after that he used my scale for his marijuanas business and that may have been the actual reason it was always flat when I wanted to use it.

Plenty of detail and the app can use your main camera as well to get more of an idea of what you're looking at. Best method for pinpointing a spot that isn't super obvious is still poking your finger onto the wall and see if that lines up with the spot you wanna check out in the thermal imaging. Framerate is apparently very high for thermal imaging cameras at a whopping 24 fps, where the western brands top out at 9 fps due to export restrictions by the USA. Used it to confirm some hot and cold spots and also figure out where my heating pipes are behind the wall. Figuring out where exactly leaks in insulation are is tough because there will be a blob of lower temperature around it, but for figuring out a rough estimate it's great. I guess you could use a hair dryer to warm up a patch and see what cools down the fastest or something, but that'd only really work with big temperature differentials. Windows are completely opaque to it and it's kinda interesting to see what materials end up unexpectedly thermally reflective. It's also great for finding power supplies or devices in standby and for checking if you didn't gently caress up your wiring instead of relying on the fire alarm. App's a little janky, especially if you try to set scale limits / unset them. Also has a pretty high miss rate on connecting to the thermal camera if launched by inserting the camera. But a quick reboot of the app solves those. Novelty very quickly wears off, but it's earned its value back by preventing me from drilling right into heating pipes and causing a leak that'd require my floor to get torn up. Yeah, if you’re trying to do some serious renovation go to Home Depot and rent a high resolution thermal cam. It’s not too expensive that way and it’s highly unlikely that you’ll ever need more than a few rental hours ever in your entire life anyway.

Brought a rear mirror dual camera system on temu https://www.temu.com/12-inch-mirror...2149_smlcr3zeju It's a Wolfbox G850. For some reason Temu intentionally hide the brand name and model number on the list page. Just install on my crv, its 1-2 inch wider than my oem mirror so barely cover it with the front camera sticking out on the left side. Good stuff for the price. Had to watch youtube to figure out how to open the tailgate plastic panel. Also I found that temu list multiple listing of the same products for a lot of items.
