So both the euro and gfs now think it's gonna be a direct hit? That's concerning. I know that most places up there are built for wind and rain since they get the occasional nor'easter but are they able to handle the storm surges?

lol the entire coast is thin barrier islands filled with luxury beach homes with inland waterways for miles behind full of sprawling development. some owners raised their homes after sandy but the damage will be instantly a top 10 us storm in dollar value due to the density and vulnerable infrastructure. nyc will have no subway in lower manhattan/brooklyn if it gets wet again and nobody will want to pay to fix it
