Well I was waiting for 11.11 to order a few things like a compact USB charger, cables and some other crap but the "Pick 3 and save" turned out to be cheaper anyway lol.

I might get a few things, kinda want to try some car parts for the hell of it. Have not been surfing nearly as heavy as I used to, which is what generates all the fun stuff.
I've bought a few minor parts from ali/banggood:
  • LED license plate lights for the Miata (haven't installed because the connectors are corroded)
  • LED Headlight bulbs (still work years later)
  • a PCV valve for my beater Fit (seems to work? :iiam:
  • Windshield washer pump for the Fit, works fine.
  • and just now found window bushing for the Miata as well. I've seen those before but then they disappeared so no idea if they're any good.
I wouldn't buy like conrods or bearings of course but stuff like this is worth a gamble when OEM or even normal aftermarket parts are difficult to find. Also kind of want to try the AMR500 supercharger :getin:

I was checking ali to see if there were any sensible suction-cup based toiletpaper holders for my bathroom, once it's renovated.
And... hmm. hmmmmmm. Yes, a Resin Dinosaur Toilet Paper Holder WC Tissue Rack Punch-free Shelf Bathroom Wall-mounted Tissue Rack Roll Paper Hanger Rack for would look rather fetching.

There's some pretty good deals today. If you spend $100 $116, you get $16 off automatically and you can also apply $15 off with the AEUS15 code.

As always make sure the sellers aren't pulling any funny business with increasing prices, but at least for the items I'm interested in, the prices are down to normal today or a few bucks cheaper.

edit: here's what I went with:

Speaking of multitools, has anyone come across a smaller one without a knife blade, or a very small one at least?

That's a big part of the utility of course but I want something I can take on the plane since I usually don't check luggage. I had a tiny one with a little blade that they always let through until one airport was particularly anal and confiscated it

Even the little key https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33031991088.html is better than nothing as I was able to use the screwdriver to tighen the hinge on my laptop and the little blade to open plastic packaging.

One more thing, anyone seen an actually small wireless mouse? I have a tiny 10" laptop for travel and the Logitech MX Anywhere turned out to be barely smaller than my desktop Razer mouse. I'm looking for something really small that would be easy to stick in a small pocket, even if it's not super ergonomic.

This is the smallest I was able to find and it's out of stock. Otherwise all the "portable" mice are still like 100x60mm which is about the same as my Logitech.

As Logitech mice go, both their Pebble and M325 are smaller than their MX Anywhere, but yeah in terms of saving space for travel the Microsoft Arc is unbeatable since it arches to give you the usual mouse "shape" you're used to from full size mice but then folds completely flat for travel. The closest thing Logitech made was their ultrathin T630 but I don't recommend it because it was bad and barely usable.

Arc

Pebble

Yeah and what thread do you think this is? There's a ton of Arc clones all over AliExpress (and Amazon), mostly of the earlier Arc version that had the scroll strip in the middle, and not the latest Arc Touch, and they're much cheaper.

The arc might be the best bet yeah. I saw the pebble but it seesm to be only marginally thinner than the MX.

I just remembered that I used to have a really small USB mouse for my laptop like 15 years ago. You'd use it with just your fingers but it worked pretty well. They still seem to exist on ebay though the cable kind of messes up everything

Heh I still got mine sitting in a closet, it works well enough as backup and so light and small you may wish to have it in your laptop bag in case of wireless malfunction.
Att: computer manufacturers - the touch pad is still not worth the wasted keyboard space.
Go back to the weird nipple thing, it sucks but keeps the board size reasonable.

I'm pretty sure I still have my MS mouse, with the scroll wheel, stashed somewhere. It's PS/2 too so with a USB adapter it's probably still an option for desktop use.

It's perfect for this purpose and at this point the Bluetooth PCB + battery are small enough we could easily make it work.

I love the Trackpoint normal-sized ThinkPad but nobody else does the nitpple any more :( Which really sucks especially on a 10" laptop the trackpad is tiny and awkward. It's a pretty silly obession but the laptop is very small and thin and easily slides into a sleeve, briefcase or backpack and the mouse is then this awkward shape that sticks out and takes up a disproportional volume.

After a bit searching I came across this but it's a gaming mouse and like $150 which Aliexpress should be able to make a knockoff for under 1/10

I saw a youtube of a tech dude lived with that $180 finger mouse for a month and slowly grew to love it. But he said he couldn't do it permanently because the transition back to normal is too big and he needed to review normal shaped mouses.

It sounds like a normal keyboard vs Dvorak keyboard kind of transition.

Also I have that logitech m630 mouse. It can pair with 2 bt computers. It's already too light and small to click comfortably. IMO it's not worth the extra 30 grams of weight you save.

Yeah the T630 isn't actually that light because it's made with metal plus the internal battery. It is small, but too small to use.
