It would come across better if their style wasn't entirely black scribbles to begin with Yeah, Lester isn't a good artist by any stretch of the imagination, but it's fairly easy to see that Uncle Sam is supposed to be feeling very negatively about the report involving coward cops being cowards and letting kids get murdered.

Speaking of feeling very negatively, it's time for Here we loving go again. Ah, thank God, we're back to right-wing talking points and not half-assed plots. (Did you miss it? This one is about abortion.) Okay, are the rednecks in Israel or are the Jews in rural Alabama? This one is gonna bug me. (It won't.) Oh, great, it's a running gag. So, in Sinfest world... are storks delivering all of these babies? How do they get inside? Do I want to know any of this? Also, note that he has to shift the handmaids off of strictly religious points because religion is good in this comic. (Well, it is now, anyway.) The response "may the Lord open" is supposed to be an earnest supplication to God to bring fertility to the handmaids... with an edge of fear, of course, because a woman's utility in that world has been directly tied to her fertility and fertility is rare. It's a criticism of how this sort of fundamentalist Christian views women, but since those people are part of Ishida's fanbase now, he's clumsily making it into a financial reference instead. Tatusya Ishida initiating a "clever" plot device so he doesn't have to wait for a few months to draw this character. Okay, so, according to this comic, this year gets raised in hell by demons and/or FBI agents and/or sex pests. I'm sure that'll be fascinating when we get back to it in eleven and a half months. How many times is baby new year going to be kidnapped by the forces of hell? I mean, this is 2 for 3 now, right? 2022 was stolen by the Woke Pimp who was full of evil ghosts, and now 2024 just got pulled into hell by more evil ghosts. Like, I get it, it's a hamfisted pre-metaphor for whatever ends Ishida decides is going wrong this year, but goddamn. If anything, should've had her get taken by Biden or Trump since it's an election year. poo poo, except they work for hell too. Except when they don't. But then hell manipulates something else. It's so loving contradictory, I smell toast. the_steve fucked around with this message at 22:02 on Jan 21, 2024 |

Tatsuya is getting pretty bold with the antisemitism there. It’s rare to see an American antisemite who isn’t also pro-Israel. I guess whatever 4chan successor he’s getting his worldview from has turned this particular corner?

"This is true." white noise bullshit that they always do when they aren't fistfighting each other.

I can’t believe a magazine is having financial struggles, something no other magazine has faced the past twenty years. It was definitely poor choices with the one special Weird Not Porn Issue it puts out a year, because that’s a sustainable business model that wasn’t threatened even further by the internet. No it was the transgender model WHO DEFINITELY HAD A FIVE O CLOCK SHADOW.
