Hey everyone! I would like create a kickas playlist of the best horror themes of all times. We’ve got og Halloween. We’ve got Helen’s theme from candyman. We’ve got tubular bells. We’ve got everything goblin. We’ve got freebied from devils rejects. Please throw any and everything horror that reminds you of it. I’ll add it all to make a kickass playlist.

Since most of what I'd recommend's already been mentioned, I'll add this mix version I can't remember where I first heard it, but fell in love at first listen.

Many people have asked why the soundtrack for An American Werewolf in London does not feature Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon. John Landis says that he thought it would have been perfect for the film, but by the time he discovered it they'd made the decision to have only songs with "Moon" in the title and had already licensed everything they needed. A great loss.

(Also listen to Werewolves of London because it's great. And Roland the Headless Thompson Machine Gunner.)

Roland needs to be a badass movie.

Also excitable boy is a great jaunty horror tune

I'll throw this one out there as one of the "best songs written for films that ended up not getting featured in the film proper*":

*They did use snippets of it in the promotions for the VHS release, though (starting at around 4:22):

Ramps the tone of the movie up quite a bit. For a theme, it's the David Bowie song "I'm Deranged", which isn't bad, either!

CHUD rules and the extended, remastered theme song also rules. Plus if anyone asks you what song this is, you can respond by saying "CHUD", and how often do you get to mention CHUD in polite company?

In case anyone is curious, DOWN, the 2001 Naomi Watts film that's a remake of the 1980 Belgian film LIFT (by the same director no less) is the absolute last motherfucking second that "grimy New York" would be portrayed on film. It's delicious because there's cell phones and internet but also peep shows and scumbags.

How about something kind of like Mimic where an unspeakable subterranean horror has learned to put on an Elmo costume and wander Times Square.
