I do too but it doesn't help the genre that Abominable Putridity is so much better than every other slam band.

Bandcamp is just not that big in Europe.

There's shitloads of European stuff on BC, but yeah for some reason power metal specifically seems to be a bit sparse on there. I did buy the last albums from Blind Guardian, Unleash the Archers and Sacred Outcry on BC, though.

I just got the new Bruce Dickenson album and it is way better than the last 20 years or so of Iron Maiden albums. Weird no one is talking about it

Because Bruce's last 4 albums have been better than anything Maiden has put out in forever, so it's not exactly shocking anymore

Unfortunately that's their debut album from 2017. The new ep is coming 22th march and there's a single from it that came out a month a go.
Pretty good stuff:

My bad, not the first time I've got got by Bandcamp's "New Releases" section. I wish their filtering was a little better.

But yeah, these guys are really unique. Tons of different influences but their stuff never feels disjointed or random. The vocals really grew on me after a while, too.

Yes.
I love Maiden too, especially Brave New World which is what The Wicker Man (which is a great song) is on.

However:

Just because I like something doesn't mean I can't take the piss on the stupid aspects of it.

I also don't have to "listen to it for the lyrics" for poo poo like this

quote:

Your time will come
Your time will come
Your time will come
Your time will come

Your time will come
Your time will come
Your time will come
Your time will come
to stand out.

I don't even remember what the rest of the song says, and I don't care. I just think it's really drat funny how they keep writing choruses like that.

For a brief moment, I was worried that people were actually, with malice and intent, making GBS threads on Iron Maiden.

That would not be okay. Because in this metal community?

We're blood brothers.

Reminds me of when I enraged a friend of mine, an old Irish punk, by goofing on The Clash. I love them, but the song What’s My Name gets a little tedious with the endless “what’s my nay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ame” I really think he wanted to hit me but that also might have been the alcohol. And the fact that I wouldn’t stop going “nayayayayayayayayayayame”
