I think you'll find that's the actual production factory for some essential weapons components. Here's a google earth link to the entire site:

And what they make - https://www.teledynedefence.co.uk/2021

The administration offices are in that little square building to the side

Direct action works

Middle East Monitor posted:

The Elbit Systems company has been forced to sell its factory in Staffordshire because of “sustained direct action,” a UK-based pro-Palestine group said Thursday, Anadolu reports.

“Relentless direct action has secured another victory in the fight against Israel’s arms trade, as Elbit Systems are forced to sell their ‘Elite KL’ factory in Tamworth,” Palestine Action said in a statement.

Elbit Systems, a weapons manufacturing company, has long been accused of being complicit in the Israeli onslaught against the Gaza Strip.

It is the largest Israeli military manufacturer and produces 85% of the country’s land-based equipment as well as 85% of drones used by the Israeli Air Force.

I love the bit at the end "it's the same reason we didn't march our troops from Northern Ireland into the Republic."
Implying that the only reason not to do it would be that it technically would be an act of war. No moral implications, just that the optics and paperwork involved is what stopped them.

I wonder if a voter could force some sort of moral judgement by asking the PM "why don't we just gun them all down". Because that's very practical, our army has guns.

I bet they'd get a very hedged response though, something like "that wouldn't be right at this time"

If you see me posting please remind me that I have Charlie Work in the reports forum to do instead

I'm... not certain about the sourcing on the reason. I assume the subsidiary was sold and the arms manufacturing is in fact shut down because it wouldn't be very hard to disprove either of those claims, but afaict the source for "they shut it down because of our direct action" is the direct action organization's claim that they received a message from the new owner that they shut it down because of the direct action.

On a first pass the other reporting is entirely from other sympathetic outlets citing the action org.
