I don't think it's true for "unimportant" NPCs. I know I've seen coffins during one visit and then they're gone on the next. I can't speak to important quest NPCs however and Dragonsplague may be a different case, also never actually had that trigger.

Oh was that scene supposed to be the beloved? lol

for me it was Brant. The dragon was holding Sara, set down Brokkr, and during the overview at the end it said Menella was my #1. Maybe I'm the one the pawns gossip about when they say another Arisen's home had many visitors.

Guys, team, best friends from beyond time and space... Are you trying to tell me something when you all ignore the four very nice camping stools in favor of sitting in the rain soaked dirt?

The fact I keep getting a close up of the four empty seats when I set camp with the grass pattern tent just rubs it in.

Working my way to rank 9 archer before my pawn and I swap jobs again, I'm still wondering what causes the difference between "Arrows tickle" and "arrows gently caress them up good" against rock lizards. Their legs? Their chest when someone else flips them first? Sure does not seem to be tail shots.

EDIT: I doubt it is the best bow. But finding an anti griffin description bow after finally, finally killing a griffin without interruptions (Welp a drake wants in, run away like a coward!) feels like the universe telling me "Good job, you did it.... hours late."

They also hit astonishingly hard for trash monsters. Plus I'm not sure I've ever seen one get their tail cut off, so either you can't or the hotbox to aim for is really small.

I am a freak using tar arrow instead of explosive (Look, look. They last longer, can be crafted from freebie lamp oil, and knockdown buffs are great with non-dwarf weapons) and the big difference has been getting drill arrow, and work in progress "Trying to work out when pierce shot is good/trash compared to shooting faces with drill shot".

That said, my bad taste gets rewarded by what would normally be cruel pranks. "Wow, sure sucks there is this torrential downpour out of nowhere with a troll and then chimera back to back... Or would, if I didn't favor mage ice buffs and sorcerer spells." I don't like frigor, but I loving love ice buff and mini blizzard.

I may finally look into on pawns due to how often one or two wizards in my party react to begging them to collect stuff on a ledge by-
A: ignoring me even if they comment on the loot.
B: Fly up to the edge, pose for the camera, turn around and come back down.

...Wait, they won't cast frigor on demand anyways. Nevermind!

But man, that four skill limit is really painful. If thankfully for "There are more than 4 cool skills I want" in most cases.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I think Meteorn/Maelstrom are really bad on pawn sorcerers and not very good on player character sorcerers either. Maelstrom has a bit of a niche as physical damage with more reliable targeting than seism, but in all cases, the prescient/augural flare spell outperforms them. It casts in about 1/10 the time and does about as much damage but much faster and with an almost 100% chance of a knockdown when placed on a weak point if it doesn't just kill outright.

Against big monsters? Yeah, I generally used Flare. But the maester spells are still great. Flare generally only hits one dude. Maelstrom/Meteoron are much better against groups of enemies, which is what you fight most often. They don't even really take more time to cast considering how much time and effort you need to put into hitting the flare with your basic attacks or Levin to charge it up.

I also think pawns are way, way, way better off with maester spells over Flare. They have no clue how to put Flare on weakspots and will not deliberately charge it up at all. Most of the time they'll toss it on a drake's wing or whatever, then it'll fizzle out without exploding. Maelstrom/Meteoron don't care how dumb your pawns are anywhere near as much. Both of them kick the poo poo out of golems too, and Maelstrom usually works in super tight quarters while I find Flare just disappears if the target is too close to a wall.

The maister skills for sorc are great on pawns - admittedly my playing spearhand and having shield and crowd control and being in melee range myself helps get the casts off, but mostly I do my thing and then at some point everything gets obliterated. Sometimes I fall off a cliff because I can't see poo poo but that's part of the experience.

Thief has too many good skills. The grapple hook (Ensnare/Implicate) is loving phenomenal. Helm/Skull Splitter is the other skill I use endlessly. I love being a murder blender. Those two do not leave my loadout.

It's the other two skills slots that I have are ones that I struggle to decide what to fit within the slots.

For a while I had Gut & Run/Draw & Quarter along with Smoke Screen/Shroud, but I found that, despite how powerful it can be, I wasn't using the smoke ability much at all. Formless Feint is said to be insanely overpowered, but I've never even slotted it because I've never felt underpowered. Blades of the Pyre is fun, but I have my mage giving out ice weapons.

IDK, between Skull Splitter and Implicate, I don't really need any other buttons.

The one thing that sucks about the morgues is sometimes an NPC won't die in a spot where their corpse is accessible for wakestoning and they won't go to the morgue.

The quest to save the one dude from the harpies triggered for me in the middle of a fight against an ogre, and consisted of the camera panning to some rocks. Then when I got over to it after killing the ogre and the harpies nothing was there.
About 20 hours have gone by in game and weeks of time, the quest isn't marked failed, he never showed up at the morgue and multiple times going back to that area outside of the ancient battleground hasn't spawned a living dude, moved his corpse, or moved him to the charnel house.

Changing a pawns haircut or makeup etc is by far the biggest boost to affinity you can get with them.

Also I don't know if it's the autoscaling they have for enemies or what, but it's weird that small common enemies are way more dangerous for me than the boss ones. They can easily take off a quarter of my health with a single hit when I have 800+ physical/magical resistance. They can also survive a lot of hits from me on magic archer with just over 1000 magic attack.

Things like lesser dragons or drakes? I can do 2+ full bars of life in a single skill.

Similarly, Goblins have a very annoying combo they can seemingly chain repeatedly if they tap you once. Bigger enemies just knock you on your rear end.

Rolled credits on the my first playthrought. What a fantasticly weird nonsense of a story wrapped in the most incredible gameplay. I missed on a lot of stuff I'm sure but a mostly blind playthrough was thoroughly enjoyable. I had a lot of fun with most of the vocations. I didn't get a lot of maister skills but what I played I enjoyed a lot. Gonna roll through NG with my knowledge of the game to finish maxing out vocations and actually fully enhancing gear / hunting maister skills.
