They claimed that they were effectively kept in the dark by the assumption that things were going to be fine, but somebody HAD to have known, right??

It's like chronic to that kind of development sphere. Someone on the creative side is always an insane freak and they put up with it for years before their artistic temperment manages to gently caress over the whole thing.

Breeding Season, Harvest Moon but furry/anthro animals loving, and had some insane Patreon take like $40k/mo for years, then the lead artist decided to throw a tantrum, and was able to take 30% of the company's money, and all his artwork per his contract and basically nuked the game.

The people left over made a big sob story about how it ruined their dream, later relaunched a new game called Cloud Meadow, same thing, and it's been circling the drain of crowdfunding for years without release to the tune of $17k/mo.

Best part was is someone posted in the steam thread that they knew the original art guy or something, and he was such a notorious horny weirdo that a huge amount of the time spent working on the game was wasted because he kept proposing some hosed up fetish stuff so extreme the other creators had to constantly talk him down and politely refuse to avoid making him quit(which, lmao happened anyways)

It was one of those mod projects where it was like 6 or 7 disassociated projects who all kind of pooled together resources to bundle their individual contributions in one spot, and naturally nobody communicated. Beyond all the criminal pervert poo poo, I remember some story about how the "lead" developer who managed the NCR Exhile faction questline was extremely protective about his genius storyline where the player character does errands for a total badass named Elias Blackthorne.

In any case, her gameplay is like if someone mashed the Occultist debuffs and Plague Doctor stuns into one class. She's got low base damage, but all sorts of pulls, stuns, damage debuffs, and a big nuke that detonates bleeds and blights to deal big damage.

We want to add a few more things to the Cataphract first though, like a custom boss and a few skill effects on top of custom sounds,

Ironically enough we got more people asking about the Omen Seeker just this past week than we have the Cataphract the entire time we were hyping it. She's not even a particularly creatively designed class and despite taking an ice pick to the style guide, this sort of thing seems like it's exactly what people want.
