There's a tamiya kit of it on my to build shelf that comes with six figures and was well reviewed when I looked it up. Dragon also makes a nice easy eight kit.

IIRC the Tamiya kit is the Tasca kit, re-released.

Every cent counted back in those days when I used to spend all my money on sink repairs. I was also going to suggest faucet aerators but I think pipe screens are easier to get in bulk or my OSH and Home Depots just suck at carrying the former.

I use each brand's thinner for thinning paints but use acetone to clean brushes and what not since it seems to work on most paints.

Find a scrap piece and let it sit in some acetone for a while first though to test, it loves to eat plastic.

I don't know airbrush terminology but what do you mean by unlocking it? The one I got had a dial assembly on the back that limits how far you can move the needle back.

The compressor is good, it's decently quiet but the biggest drawback is that there's no gauge to measure pressure but it hasn't really been too big of a problem for me. I actually wish that airbrush had been my starter one instead of the iwata knockoff I got (which is pretty good at laying down base coats tbf). You might want to check out Chicago airbrush supply, they'll sell the compressor and brush as a combo kit and they might throw in some cleaning solution and bristle brushes.

Going off the zvezda spitfire I built, don't even bother building the engine unless you're planning on displaying it with the casing opened. Just keep an eye out for when/where the exhaust pipes go because they jut out of the engine casing.
