I dunno if it's been like this for a while, but Newbury Comics (and Amazon through NC) has the the Pavement "Brighten the Corners" 4 disc box set thing for $20.

I grabbed one last week in store at NC, there's a handful left in stock online.

On another note, I saw the Screaming Females open for the Dead Weather. They were pretty weird. The singer looks way too young. I regret not grabbing their album at the show.

They are probably one of my favorite bands, they tour all the loving time and often play small rad venues. I've probably seen them a dozen times now.

If you're one of the 5 people in the world who have heard of the Gay Blades, their special edition of their "Ghosts" vinyl release is looking sexy. And $18!

Then I bought the Built to Spill Live and Screaming Females/Garbage 10" and left.

Pretty good day.

Here's the list! They're all conditionally superb unless stated.

Foxygen - We Are The 21st Century... (clear vinyl)
Talking Heads - True Stories
The Exorcist Soundtrack, kind of beat up and ringworn with a corner of the jacket seemingly having been cut off. Looks aesthetically cohesive this way, I think.
Waxahatchee - Cerulean Salt (blue vinyl)
The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Typing Out This Dumb Name - Whenever, If Ever (white vinyl)
Xasthur - Defective Epitaph
King Crimson - Red, a little worn from age
The Men - New Moon
Neat Beats - Cosmic Surgery (great album)
My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult - Some Have To Dance... Some Have To Kill... single
My Bloody Valentine - mbv
Fuzz - Fuzz
Frustrator - anther
Omar Rodriguez Lopez Quartet - Sepulcher (gross purple)
Dweller On The Threshold - s/t
Bosnian Rainbowns - s/t
Boris - Heavy Rocks (II)
Boris - Absolutego+ (red vinyl, southern lord)
Akron/Family - Sub Verses (white vinyl)
The Anters - Undersea (very nice looking sea colored vinyl)

How much for the Waxahatchee and Foxygen? They've got them both at the local Newbury Comics but I keep passing over em.

Are we really that far removed from everyone having a stereo of some sort of their own? I mean I'm the same as anyone and do a majority of my music listening via the phone or computer but how young do you have to be to have zero concept of a standalone music machine of some kind?

I moved a year ago and haven't hooked up my receiver/home stereo because I don't have the room for it in my new place.
I have a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon hooked up to an amp which goes into my Sonos system and then plays throughout the house

It looks like Gorillaz Demon Days is going to be album of the month for April. I've never subscribed before, but $23 seems like a better deal than some of the crazy prices on original copies or bootlegs.

If you're struggling to find the single month membership join link (which I think they removed from the site), here you go:
