Chiming in a little late on the Wet Leg chat but the band name "Scotty and the Soft Boys" from the Ur Mum video just cracks me up. Great song, great video. I'm hooked on all their singles but that one is my favourite lately.

I got to see the New Pornographers in a fairly small venue right as they came off touring for Twin Cinema, and it was amazing. I was on a mezzanine basically almost above Kurt Dahle and got to watch him play with a seeming effortlessness that just blew me away. He had a full pint glass he could pickup and sip from while keeping time with his other hand. Legend. Always surprised he doesn’t pop up on more canadian bands in need of a drummer! Twin Cinema is still on my all time albums short list..

It has been wild seeing Deftones have a resurgence (although they never went away and have been putting out solid albums) as apparently the zoomers are getting into them? They’re not really numetal imo but get lumped in there a lot.

My 5 year old daughter loves Phoebe Bridgers initially based on that skeleton tshirt Phoebe wears (that is her style too) but then she kept asking to watch more and more of her videos and she just rocks out. She asks for Phoebe where her older sister will ask for katy perry or taylor swift lol She’s totally going to be the cool girl at school

I still like the end of year lists in general because they are good to read while work slows down in December. Also they’re good for 2 things: filling me in for things I missed that sound interesting and stimulating discussion about the list! I think the top song lists are my favs.
