There's a really great speech that David Warner gives about his evil, and I always get a kick out of Malcolm McDowell playing a good guy. I think it's fun.

You could literally make the tag line "I dreamed a dream..." with that Cossette image, and you'd be set. Everyone knows that title, everyone knows that song (thanks, Susan Boyle!),

I keep think you guys are going on about this song:

I have never seen Les Mis nor heard any songs from it. I love musicals, but my experience has been that Les Mis fans are like the Trekkies of the musical world; kinda scary and cultish.

As much as it pains me to say it, big name actors nowadays add a sense if legitimacy to an animated film. How many here gave Foodfight a shot as the movie somehow snagged Charlie Sheen and Christopher Lloyd compared to the equally mind boggling but star-empty Ratatoing?

I was in Hollywood this morning and noticed this poster. The movie is from 1933 so it's not surprising that Dr. Yen is played by a Dane named Nils Asther but I was surprised that Barbara Stanwyck is drawn in a see through gown and yes, you can see her nipples.

Still gotta watch Lupine, but I love those posters. Also, speaking of Kathleen Burke:

She won a talent show to get her role in Island of Lost Souls, as they wanted to cast an unknown to make her seem more exotic; her subsequent career capitalized on that Panther Woman publicity.

It was weird watching Dirty Harry for the first time and hearing people use "friend of the family" so casually in conversation. Old movies are portals into how the world used to be, the good and the bad.

There's a scene in Eddie Cantor's Whoopee! from 1930 where Cantor, in black face (of course), goes to talk to the female protagonist. He puts his hand on her, and she shoots back, "How dare you touch me?!". He quickly clears it up that he's just in black face, but it's a weird horrifying moment in a really bad comedy.

This version of Star Trek still has a nuclear WW3 in its origin right? Its very unlikely in a nuclear war London wouldn't have been nuked repeatedly.

Star Trek's WW3 nuclear war was more of a tactical situation rather than full onslaught. Or, hey, maybe the new movie is ditching that stupidity.
