Does your FLGS have a website? Try there. Or just walk in, and ask the dude behind the counter if anyone plays.

Don't forget the purposeful naming of the Falcon and Slave 1 as "medium" ships to allow growth into god knows what as "large."

I'm both happy and sad that they didn't go with scale for the big ships. Happy, because they will actually make the fuckers, and sad, because there is something hilarious about a "miniature" the size of your kitchen table.

thunderchief posted:Right on. Wouldn't it be cooler if they were on the same scale though? I'm sure you would TOTALLY buy a coffee table sized "miniature". Edit: ok, so technically the Tantive IV would only be 55 centimeters (22 inches) long, but seeing as the not-quite-to-scale one is $90 bucks, who in the world would buy it? It would cost at least double that, if not more. Editx2: Spaceship Earth (the sphere at Epcot Center) is only 180ft tall, or about 12% of the 1456 ft required to have the proper 1:270 scale of the 120km Death Star. Can I get a link to that sweet list builder? It would probably go great in the OP... Also, what is a good starting point for a Rebel List? Looking to get in to this more in depth after the holiday season. 2 Cores is dumb for Rebels, or is it a decent value for ships/cards/dice still?

It's funny... I just did some digging and the announcement was April 2013. They were showing up in the "Upcoming" page for a long, long time. It isn't there anymore, and is flagged as not available on the product page. I doubt they'll actually announce anything about why they shitcanned it, but it wasn't a very good idea in the first place. CSI still has them up for preorder

Though I'm curious as to why they've made an unarmed, unarmored, slow and unmaneuverable bulk transport ship as a game piece. Is it supposed to be for a scenario setpiece or something? It's for Epic Play and Cinematic Play. You won't see them in standard tournament play, but man are they pretty. If there's an event near you, that means there's probably plenty of straight tournaments often enough. This one can be a little weird. FFG doesn't have or restrict releases to street dates. The date quoted on the Upcoming page is the "If your FLGS doesn't have it on the shelves by this date, you either don't live in the US or they are behind on their bills" date. If they have it, they can sell it, and 99% of the time, it's legal for tournament play.
