Can someone please post the fix for SickBeard and American Dad? Content: This may be a good item to include in the OP. The TWiT network did a 20 minute feature on how to install XBMC on a Pi. It's more of an overview but should be enough to get people started. The part I found interesting was the mention of how you can setup transcoding on another server and stream it to the PI since it has issues with high quality video. Check it out. http://twit.tv/show/know-how/31

so I bought a new 60" TV and can see XBMC so much better now. I was using Aeon Nox but would like to give some others a try. I got noticed a while ago that Xperience360 was taken out of the repository so that is everyone using now?

By default, Gotham shows a settings level of Basic. Switch to the Confluence skin and change it to Expert. Now go into audio settings and you can now see passthrough option

some_weird_kid posted:I had the same idea, and I just got $210+ for mine on eBay. I expect that price will creep down as more and more people become aware of the Fire TV, but judging from the questions I got, I don't think the prospective buyers were exactly on the bleeding edge. I think there is a big market for people getting them with icefilms/navi-x already installed so they can just give it to Uncle Larry and not have to spend lots of time setting it up.

So Google announced the nexus player today http://gizmodo.com/this-nexus-player-is-the-first-official-android-tv-1646651103 quote:This is the Nexus Player, a four-inch, half-pound hockey puck of a set-top box designed to watch all your movies AND play your Android games. It'll cost $99 on October 17th. EDIT: I should read more before I post. Look like this only has 8GB internal storage and no USB port. However, I'm sure someone will come up with a way to stream local content over WiFi like they have with Chromecast. Bonzo fucked around with this message at 23:29 on Oct 15, 2014 |

Funny story. My wife's famlily recently had some old home movies transferred to DVD. I ended up burning an ISO of it so we could watch it in XBMC when we wanted to. The file is named FamilyMovies.ISO and then scraped it comes up as this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118840/?ref_=nv_sr_2

Sorry if its been mentioned, but how does the Fire Stick perform when streaming 1080p content over Wifi?. I'm still using an old Revo 3600 but it just looks odd sitting there. EDIT: or is a FireTV a better option? Bonzo fucked around with this message at 18:38 on Dec 2, 2014 |

Ixian posted:They both have 2.4/5GHz N (and a/b/g) wireless which is decent, not great, and is the biggest factor. It really depends what you mean by 1080p - that's the resolution, but it's the total bitrate of the content that matters. As well as how it is encoded - badly encoded content will have worse streaming performance at the same bitrates as content that was encoded correctly for streaming. XBMC and ffmpeg can do a very good job correcting for this, but only if the stream you are sending it is consistent. Thanks. Well I tried to order one but I'm in Canada so Amazon is cock blocking me.

Yes, the installer makes a new directory, backs up your data and "converts" the library and settings to KODI. All the add-ons are there but I noticed I had to redo my advancedsetings.xml file. Also if you are on Windows you have to redo shortcuts because xbmc.exe no longer exists.

serebralassazin posted:Never knew there was that much drama involved in the XBMC world (especially with the plex split). Thanks for your replies Ixian, they are pretty interesting to read. I've seen it when people develop add ons. Typically someone make a pretty interesting one (like the first psudeo TV plug in) and it gets really popular. Then a new version of XBMC breaks it and the forums implode with people demanding a fix or screaming that their feature request still hasn't been added. The guys who make the add on end up bailing or abandoning the project because they have lives/scholl work/jobs and can't spend all their free time giving free tech support.

I am moving into a new house in a little over a month and rather than mess around with all that again off the bat I bought the FireTV to install XBMC on and connect over the network to my PC, I've never streamed content over Wifi with XBMC before, but I was just given a crazy AC1900 wrt router and want to go all wireless. I assume with a stout enough signal Wireless-N will be fine streaming content over my network up to 1080p? Actually does the FireTV secretly support wireless AC? I thought Android could not do 5.1 audio
