Based on the FAQ it looks like they're making a "clean" and an "adult" version, and are skirting around Kickstarter's rules against adult content by saying they'll only spend the money on the nonadult stuff, which will be used in both versions of the game and seems rather shakey to me. Also, isn't Monster Girl Quest supposed to be a really disgusting/disturbing game?

...of SCIENCE! posted:You can now count Shadowrun Returns as yet another KS that had to renege on their original pitch. They promised to make their game DRM free but part of the stipulation of getting the license from Microsoft was that they had to include DRM on the final retail product...and they only just this month started telling people. Uh, that's not right. The DRM free version available to backers includes the DLC funded via the Kickstarter. You just need to use the Steam version if you want any of the later DLC.

cyberia posted:As much as the idea of a real-life version of the movie Zoidberg made in Futurama appeals to me I think it'd be even better if everyone pledged then cancelled their pledges 2 days before the end of the kickstarter just so these scammers have to spend a month wondering how the gently caress they're going to incorporate 180,000 extras into their movie only to have the whole thing pulled out from under them at the eleventh hour. First, it's not in every scene. It guarantees a non-talking role in the movie, not a non-talking role in each scene. Second, I think their thought process wouldn't be "How do we fit all these people in?", but more "How much of this money do we need to spend on vanishing with the rest?"

Isn't part of the appeal the fact that it isn't the size of a phone from 10 years ago and it fits into your pocket comfortably ? They aren't even that fragile. I have owned most versions of the iPhone ,have never used a case and every one looked nearly brand new once I decided to sell it. One of the guys I work with really, really needs to get a heavy duty case for his iPhones. He semi-regularly ends up dropping his, which invariably leads to a badly cracked screen, despite having a standard phone case on it.

One of the guys who actually made the game just posted in the comments saying that they would be releasing a print-and-play version of the game for free for all of the backers. Keith Baker posted:Yesterday, Erik Chevalier of the Forking Path announced that he has cancelled the Kickstarter to produce The Doom That Came To Atlantic City, a board game designed by Lee Moyer and Keith Baker, which is to say, me. When Lee and I first heard this news from Erik, it came as a shock. We’ve been working on this game for over a decade. In 2011 we had it ready to go to the printer with Z-Man Games, until a change in ownership dropped it from production. Based on the information we’d been receiving from the Forking Path we believed that the game was in production. It’s a personal and financial blow to both of us, but what concerns Lee and I is that people who believed in our work and put their faith in this Kickstarter have been let down.
