Two companions definitely seems to work better as it gives the writers another reoccurring main character to play around with. I was hoping Danny would at least travel with the Doctor a bit, but it wasn't meant to be.

thexerox123 posted:I don't think Dave was in the episode at all. No, Dave was the guy killed first. The whole "Arctic Base/Aliens" bit of the dream was from Shona based on the list at the end and the episode hints a lot that the first guy wasn't real (he was an angry douchebag, exactly as Shona felt about him when she fell asleep.) It's actually a surprisingly deep little bit for Moffat in that he resisted hammering the point in. EDIT: \/ Maybe I'm mistaken then. They really need to poo poo or get off the pot. Either make a very story heavy continuous arc that spans several episodes or over a season or go back to the barely-mattering stuff like Bad Wolf where it's just a tiny thing in all but the finales (which the last season did mostly do. Shame the finale itself was dire.)

Dr. Gene Dango MD posted:I'm fine with a cruddy episode here or there (or even if most of the episodes are not great) its the lack of multiparters and the importance of the meta-plot that's dragging it down for me. Even the good episodes feel rushed, like they don't have enough time to develop their characters and locations. Nightmare in Silver would have made an amazing two-parter. As it stands it's a (again, in my opinion) decent little episode. Yeah Nightmare in Silver really is one of those ones that needed a bit of breathing room. You could have done similar to the Orient Express one (though that one was pretty well paced for being a single episode.) Time Heist too, kind of.

Hopefully Moffat gave her a better script. She makes a pretty fun villain but she had the worst episodes.

I always forget those great original voices. The odd whistling just makes them so much creepier than the modern generic robot voice.

Yeah I kind of like that approach better myself. They're far creepier when they look more like meat puppets being dragged around by the technology instead of just robots.
