Yeah I have no idea why you would pretend your company is dead and cancel events, unless you're a crazy person. I assume Quack is a crazy person.

Chikara is so weird, sheesh. How about you put on some events where a face fights valiantly against a dastardly heel?

Haha I was just gonna say, is it possible to break even running wrestling shows for 25 people? I could book a wrestling show and draw 25 people if that's all it takes.

I wonder if the Wrestling Is shows attract only Chikara faithful, or if they bring in random people from the community who just want to watch wrestling? If I wasn't familiar with Chikara, I'd be annoyed with a show I paid for ending in some dumb run in shenanigans from people I've never seen before.

Can someone explain to me what it is about Chikara that gets people so obsessed and in love with it? I just don't get people who think Chikara is the best thing about pro wrestling.

Jay 2K Winger posted:I don't necessarily think that Chikara was the best thing in wrestling. It had its flaws, but I never failed to be entertained by a show, and by and large, its storylines were good, I thought. Yeah, that type of viewpoint I can get. I'm not saying Chikara was terrible by any means. But when I'm talking to someone who thinks WWE and ROH suck and Chikara is the best, I get confused. I guess there are fans who just decide to cling to something, no matter what it is or what else is out there.

How much did Chikara tour around, anyway? Is it like PWG where they have a "home base", or more like ROH where they go to different markets all the time? Just curious what the live audience will be like if/when Chikara finally comes back. Will people have been waiting with baited breath for them to come back, or will they have moved on?

Haha I didn't know LM was female either, I thought it was a dude going to great lengths to show how unimpressed he was to get a hug by Maria.

I don't follow Chikara at all, but I get the feeling like Quack doesn't really care if he attracts new fans, outside of King of Trios. Like he has his little cult of followers, and that's enough for him. And hey, good for him if that's the case. If he wants to create a little performance art piece for his 100 fans, go for it. But if he was doing this thinking it would grow the company, then yeah he is a doofus.

It's weird, because this whole thing has gotten me following Quack and learning about Chikara more than I ever have, but I also never want to actually watch the show. I was just fascinated by this whole dumb thing and the weird guy that thought it up.

rovert posted:sportsgenius86 did you listen to his F4W interview Mike rhymed off a fairly impressive list of stats about the increase in interest/brand awareness in CHIKARA since the hiatus: Twitter and Youtube followers going through the roof and such like. Just curious, what kind of numbers was he throwing around? I put ChikaraPro into http://twittercounter.com (no idea if it's a legit site) and it says in the past 3 months ChikaraPro has gone from 27,565 followers to 27,765 Not exactly an explosion of interest
