He likely has a door in his space sphere that leads to the home of whoever is his best wizard buddy there. He probably goes there to hit on Vol.

He usually uses it to drink beers with Ed Greenwood and marvel at modern technology that's normal to us. Hitting on an undead half dragon lady would be a more plausible use than the actual canon one.

Both. She's sane, I guess. It's the Simbul, she's pretty much that female character.

Aren't they resetting the Forgotten Realms because manbabies pitched a fit about things getting mixed up?

They should just pull a Star Trek, make two universes. One where Elminster is an accepting progressive twenty something action wizard and the standard old sex offender one.

EDIT: I get all my Forgotten Realms lore from the wiki. gently caress reading those books now.

I'm pretty sure that Ed Greenwood and R.A. Salvatore are the only people who actually make a consistent living off of D&D and will continue to do so in the future. Those guys are going to be getting work or a check in the mail until the day they die. Just think about that. Not that they're bad people but they've done better than the people who created the game.

Ed created huge parts of the game - maybe not that much rules-wise but he's contributed significantly to how we think about campaign settings, the Nine Hells, so forth and so on. He's a good designer who made a good thing with the Forgotten Realms, not just the guy who made Elminster.

Greenwood and Salvatore pretty much created a majority of the tropes for D&D.

People bitch about Salvatore making good drow but he pretty much fleshed out their society as a race. Gygax was also the first to present playing a good drow as well so as usual, grogs and people bitching about nothing don't know poo poo.

My book is called Fellowship, and it is a Powered by the Apocalypse fantasy system mostly based on Dungeon World, but with some fairly major edits. It is similar enough that it can be used with Dungeon World stuff but I basically rewrote all of the core moves in the book, so it can be used as a stand-alone product as well.

I wrote a preview consisting of the playbooks' descriptions here, along with some artwork: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ePKUhH5i1yl2ySxTXPSXID1NRA2JHC_5pzA0YGmhDAQ/edit

I'll have a playtest version available by the end of the week, and if everything goes smoothly it'll be out for sale before October.

That's pretty awesome. I'll definitely pick it up in October.

Zak S pretty much lives the life of pretty much every straight male porn star, overshadowed by the female talent and only around for a limited time. He just works to make sure this happens to him in every field and industry.

Okay.

That was a thing that was done back then. They kind of did the same for Stonewall Jackson's arm at Chancellorsville but I can't find out if it was a normal funeral or a military one.

Every male pornstar probably wishes they could be James Deen.

Zak S really needs to stop adding that to his resume, it's been over 6 years.

I think Shadowrun should get the award for weirdest Drow, which are the Night Ones. They're an elf variant that's covered in a thin layer of hair, range in color from black to orange, and have a sun allergy.

Shadowrun elves are like the single most stereotypical elves in gaming. They're all smugly superior racist pricks who love nature and are good at magic it's just that some of them have cyberarms.

Those are just the ones from the elf nations and that's because fantasy elves influenced their society so they would be stereotypes. The Tir's are pretty much cyberpunk fantasy Israels.

The nature thing also describes most of the Americas outside of the UCAS, CAS, and Aztlan.

EDIT: Those fantasy elves are Earthdawn elves btw, so literal sword and sorcery elves who have been alive for close to 10,000 years.

Well, apparently Scion's getting a new edition. Maybe, along with mechanics that might possibly actually function, they'll also talk about using your superhero powers in front of people this time.

So will it be more racist or less racist? Also, more or less sexist?

I'm guessing it will be less so in all categories because the Onyx Path people seem like good people. They actually might get some people who know something about Japanese mythology and be creative enough to not make every goddess a prostitute. That not only demeans women but also completely misinterprets sacred prostitution, which may not have even existed.

They should just take the concept of Scion and completely remake it because there is nothing worthwhile to keep from it other than the premise that you're a non-YA Percy Jackson knockoff.

So I've never been anywhere near Gencon, is it big enough that you need to do the hotel reservation dance a year in advance? Or is it small enough that you can more or less just show up?

You should also try to have a friend who has a VIG or VIG companion badge in order to not deal with the bullshit lottery.

EDIT: Also, don't be attached to any events. They will probably sell out before you even get a chance to reserve them so be prepared to have backup plans. If you plan on running things, about 3 games with 6 people will get you a free badge. You get this rebate after the fact and need at least 70 hours of tickets. If someone doesn't show, use your own generics to pick up the slack. Don't play in or run more than 4 RPG sessions because you will not have time or energy for anything else.

It's the truest representation of capitalism ever committed to flimsy card stock.

My biggest issue with Yu-Gi-Oh is that it has the cheapest production values I've ever seen from a major corporation. This game was designed to maximize profits and whip children into a foil Charizard level frenzy.
