Yep, that setup will get you plenty of room to build fun lists (and rebel aces will be a better buy than imperial, because a T70 and a T65 will struggle to reach 100 points between them, whereas 4 TIEs can get there quite easily with the expensive pilots and a couple of mods), more so if you don't care about getting all the cards and just print lists out from the list builder - which you should at least whilst you're getting started.

I'm pretty sure you can get 100 points on it alone, yeah, and that does sound fine. I've no idea what the pilot costs for the others are going to look like though, and it's probable Ezra is the cheapest shuttle pilot. I'm guessing any combination of people with semi-decent initiative is going to kill the points for the third ship pretty comfortably.

Been playing with it in the benchmarker and it seems like a lot of fun, but Echo is super difficult to actually get right. I had real problems last week with being arc-dodged by Dash Rendar with Engine Upgrade and PTL (he won init against my Whisper, otherwise I would have murdered him), hence the Intelligence Agent, plus I love inties with all the trimmings - but low-init inties with all the trimmings will have trouble staying in the right places I fear.

Carnor stops you spending it at all, which blocks spending to fire weapons (but not Attack: focus that DOESN'T say to spend the token), whereas Dark Curse stops you using focus to modify the roll, but doesn't stop you spending it in order to make the attack at all.

Definitely R5P9 on Poe rather than R2D2. 1 point cheaper and Poe will usually have the focus to spend at the end of combat because his pilot ability really makes you want to hold onto it DURING combat. Then use the point you save to give him autothrusters to make it even more likely.

Yep, the Aces sets are very solid for what they get you, but ideally what you should try to do is get down to a local club and borrow some stuff until you know roughly what you want to fly, then buy that. Especially, the core sets don't get you into Scum at all (why isn;t there a core set with Scum :colbert:) so if you want to play them you either have to put money into it or proxy/borrow for a while.

Didn't quite realise MOst Wanted had two Zs in it. might be worth me picking up at some point soon since I'm really interested in trying a Latts Razzi/Ace/Z build probably using Mist Hunter as the ace. Or Talonbane.

Dammit I want this whole game already.

(And I've already played more games of it than I ever did of 40k or gorkamorka, which I probably spent WAY more money on overall.)

I lost though, against a Howlrunner mini swarm and Kath Scarlet. I blew up Howl with a range 1 Talonbane shot before she did anything, but it was all downhill from there D:

I'd say maybe you should be able to spend an action to regen them or something?

I feel like they should be cooler and gooder, but as they are they're slightly better than normal attacks for LOTS more cost. I mean, equip three ships with good missiles, you could have had an extra ship instead. That doesn't seem quite right.

Welp I got my poo poo kicked in 4 times tonight twice running Echo/VI/Adv Cloak/Adv Sensors/Intel Agent and 2 Royal Guard Ties with PTL/Autothrusters/Stealth Device and twice swapping one of the Royal Guards for two naked Epsilon Squad TIEf/os.

Against Han/Poe twice, Chewie/Dagger Squad/Basic T70 and stresshog T70/Ten Numb/Poe. I acquitted myself OK against Chewie played by a total newbie (still lost), but got owned by the other two so hard. I like nippy arcdodgy interceptors, but I'm not yet good enough to fly them effectively, and against tough tournament winning builds like Han/Poe it's a real struggle.

But I got some practice on my blocking and maneuvering, so it's not all bad I guess :unsmith:

Poe/VI/Autothrusters/R5P9/Weapons Guidance.
Han/C3P0/Engine Upgrade/PTL and I think Kyle Katarn.

It was an absolute horror to get with my list flown by a highly skilled player. I think I could have stood a chance reading Poe right with Echo and getting behind him, because a few 5 dice shots up the tailpipe will do for Poe pretty quickly, but the dice were not in my favour the second time with Echo and she died before getting a shot off. The Royal Guard did OK but I think killed himself with asteroids, and the Epsilons were only ever there as blockers anyway.

I am super looking forward to sticking Sabine onto rebel ships that don't normally get bombs though, that sounds super fun. B wings and superdash in particular. Equally, Hera in the crew slot on PTL Keyan Farlander is going to be something. K Turn all day erryday. Or Chopper, for that matter.

But I've got to agree with some of the whining, so far this wave does seem to be massively favouring Rebels. I mean, the new TIES have been nice, but the Ghost poo poo is CRAZY. The only thing they're really lacking is much in the way of initiative.

I'm really hoping the Mist Hunter and Punishing One are something special.

Shame Chopper doesn't have an Astromech slot option though :(

It's basically a 3-die attack with no range bonuses. Which is OK. Boost/barrel roll is always good, 3 AGI is nice, it looks solid, especailly compared with e.g. Maarek.

But arcdodging aces are a LOT harder to do these days with all the various stress-delivery and autohit/autodamage options, not to mention that z swarms are available to Rebs and Scum as well. Swarms are fine, but they're not that powerful a lot of the time - you can roll 2 dice all day, but when you're rolling them against a regenning rebel ace who dodges most of them...

It's good but in comparison to some of the options on the Ghost it's not amazing, and the problem with lots of attack versus arcdodgy guys is that PS8 means you probably don't beat their initiative unless you take VI, so you don't get the shot. And even then, you're still only at 3 dice on 3 dice (or 4 if they still have a stealth device) and they probably have a bunch of tokens. It's good, but it's not amazing. The rest of the set remains to be seen though.

Yeah, the Rebs do have an absolute plethora of excellent crew.

The more I play around with Ghost builds (YASB has all the spoiled bits in already) the more I feel like a very good job of balancing has been done to avoid too many super-broken combos - you can't fit Kanan (Crew), Kyle, and Experimental Interface into the same build without using XI to do bombs as the action, which isn't amazing, so the equivalent of BB8 PTL builds really don't seem to work that well alongside the potential brokenity of using Advanced Sensors to get two actions then Kanan to destress and Kyle for a free focus when you do. The lack of EPT is fairly clearly a well-chosen move to balance the Ghost I think.

Kanan is superb though. He feels like a gimme in many if not most Rebel builds that have crew slots.

I'm currently being very entertained by the idea of Sabine in the B Wing/E2 seat. Keyan/Advanced Sensors/PTL/HLC/Extra Munitions (i.e. pretty standard Keyan) plus the ability to dump off a Conner Net in front of whatever luckless numpty tried to get in behind you. Twice. Then K-turn on them and HLC to face.

Yeah, comes to just under 50 points, but I suspect that if you can catch an ace behind you at the right point, it gives you just the right level of 'being a massive dick to them' that aces need.

You can fit in a tooled-up Poe and still have room for a Tala Z for a blocker.

Alternatively PTL Superdash with Sabine and a Conner Net plus tooled-up Poe.

I don't know if Sabine plus a Conner Net is better for PTL Superdash than Kanan though. Making Superdash all the manoeuvrable is soooo tasty. Basically makes Dash's entire dial green except the K-turn, meaning he can basically go everywhere and boost/barrel roll everywhere and keep HLCing all the things, everywhere.

Superdash was bad enough.

It seriously does make me wonder if Kanan isn't undercosted. It's a HUGELY powerful ability that only gets better the less green you have on your dial, and that's discounting the fact that it also works on others within range 2 if you didn't need it this turn.

E: I think the only things we don't have from Ghost are the generic Ghost pilot and the Thermal Detonator now? Anyone have any guesses about the latter?

My real issue with it is that it doesn't really feel like fat pancake rebel builds generally need much help or additional options as compared to say, similar builds using YVs. Hopefully Punishing One/Mist Hunter gives Scum this sort of love.

That's my understanding. The only thing the shuttle does whilst docked is enable the Ghost title card's ability to make extra attacks with its turret and primary attacks from the rear arc.

E: so, of the two 58 point big ships here, which goes best with Whisper? I'm leaning towards trolling RAMMING SPEED Oicunn, but 360 arcs are so boring :(

A docked Phantom isn't shooting *at all*. None of its components are doing anything whatsoever except the title.

The docked Phantom is giving the Ghost 4-die rear-arc shots and free turret shots.

An attack with a TLT is both shots AFAIK. Same wording as BTLA4 on the Y wing which allows three shots. 'Cannot attack again this round' stops Gunner or Luke going off if it misses, and wasn't needed on the Y because they haven't got the crew slot to make it possible in the first place.

For people who've done repainting, have you found it necessary to strip minis first, and if not, have you found it necessary to prime?

I'm thinking about doing some repainting, particularly a dazzle-camo Decimator just to be trolly, and I want to make sure I don't mung anything up.

Very nice if you can get a hit with it, but the sort of ships you'll want to be targetting, you won't be hitting much. It'll be good against the Poes and such, the ones you do chipping damage to and then they regen.

Not what I was hoping for, I have to say. I was hoping for something along the lines of making white maneuvers red and green maneuvers white.
