Oh no way, Palin is actually running? This is incredible. I think the primaries just jumped the shark.

I haven't tuned in to US elections since 2008, when I was much more optimistic than I am now. They're always entertaining though you have to give them credit.

I don't think she'll actually run, but she is doing the requisite "I'm not ruling it out..." moves to get the PAC donations flowing from rubes again. There is always hope though!

Well snap. Pretty timely of you to mention this, as I've actually just finished a few gifs recently. I've been meaning to get back to this recently since I've had to deal with my masters thesis, applications, standardized tests, and a huge workload overall for the past year or so and On The Campaign Trail just fell off the wagon. Even though I try to complete anything I start, I end up striking while the iron is cold.

In any case, my original plan was to just quietly post updates in the Political Cartoon thread, but since the topic's been broached I suppose it wouldn't be too gauche for me to put updates here. :v:

I'll also try to convert everything to static vertical images at some point too, since I know that is the preferred format for some people. That, and I'll also fix the name so it properly includes "Trail."

Part 69!

Part 70!

Part 71!

This has the first 35 in static vertical format if that helps you at all. Also goddamn, I forgot how great these were.

Sounds like we have our 2016 Republican candidate then. How can anyone top that? Maybe Walker could get close, but drat.

Walker just had to back down from taking the words "improve the human condition" and "basic to every purpose of the system is the search for truth" out of the Wisconsin Idea, which has been the governing principle of the UW system for over 100 years. He changed the system's mission to add the words "to meet the state's workforce needs". And he tried to do all this in the same budget bill that cut $300 million in funding from the system.

I don't think anyone has said it would happen within a couple years. A lot of this hope is Texas shifting, which will still probably take a decade or two. The meantime demographic shifts don't exactly help republican's with a national election. Especially since their base can't shut up about just how much they hate those minorities.
